Firstly, a representative vibration signature is extracted from healthy start-up vibration measurements through the use of an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). Then, the first critical speed and the vibration level at the critical speed are located from the signature. Finally, two (s- and v-) health indices are introduced to detect and identify different novel/fault conditions from the IGT start-ups, in addition to traditional similarity measures, such as Euclidean distance and cross-correlation measures. Through a case study on IGTs, it is shown that the presented approach provides a convenient and efficient tool for IGT condition monitoring using start-up field data.","PeriodicalId":273613,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (INDEL)","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125744708","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper explains effective algorithm developed for energy savings in low power wireless sensor networks (WSNs). We consider a dynamic network, where sensors are geographically deployed in a field with different trajectories describing behavior of an object that is passing through the sensors field. The aim is to minimize number of sensors participating in object tracking to extend the network lifetime. We show significant energy savings when a binary search algorithm is used for different network scenarios. To support long lifetime of sensors with satisfactory intrusion tracking error, energy-efficient operation is the key, since energy is scarce resource. Our algorithm is suitable for implementation in the context of Internet of Things (IoT), especially in smart and green energy applications, as well as variety of campus and defense applications.","PeriodicalId":273613,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (INDEL)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129451827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The devices include: a transformer with on-load tap changing, energy storage systems, switching equipment, reactive power sources, distributed generators. A combined use of these control devices would allow performing the optimization of the normal and post-fault operation modes of distribution grids. However, the solution of the optimization problem is impossible without the knowledge of the node voltages, the active and reactive power flows and the state topology of the optimized grid referred to as the operating mode parameters. The paper proposes using an amount of power energy from the automated measuring systems, basing on electricity meters as multifunctional measuring devices. The estimation of the operating mode parameters according to the data of electricity meters at the certain time intervals gives a better result, compared to the classical approaches based on the calculation of the average steady-state parameters under the changes of both topology and operation modes, which usually takes place in the distribution grids. Thus, for estimating the operating mode parameters in distribution grids, the authors propose to implement a new approach based on the use of energy.","PeriodicalId":273613,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (INDEL)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124008969","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Key block at single-phase Synchronous Reference Frame PLL (SRF-PLL) structure is two-phase generator which is used for generation of two quadrature signals, which are necessary for SRF block. One of the issues that could appear during estimation of grid parameters is appearance of DC offset in measured grid voltage. In this paper is described second order generalized integrator (SOGI) which is capable to fully reject DC offset and noise which could appear in measured input grid voltage. This two-phase generator is named DC-SOGI. Analog DC-SOGI is made of two second order filters. While these structures are mostly digitally implemented, then it is interesting to analyze discretization method and sampling time impact on two-phase generator. Simulation results confirm given assumption.","PeriodicalId":273613,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (INDEL)","volume":"2012 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125993359","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Numerous device families are currently in use, where optical chemical sensors are probably the fastest, the simplest and the most sensitive. Affinity sensors represent a class of these devices based on adsorption of chemical analytes. The prime example are plasmonic sensors, which are label-free, ultra sensitive and ultra fast. Literature usually defines only the ideal sensitivity of such devices and their performance is taken as granted. In reality there are many parasitic processes that decrease their performance and introduce significant measurement uncertainties. Noise and fluctuations in such sensors can be generated by both extrinsic or intrinsic sources and a significant part of them is a consequence of fundamental processes that at the same time ensure the very function of the devices. The main intrinsic mechanisms include adsorption-desorption, optical flicker and thermal noise, while the level of the extrinsic noise is related with the quality of the interrogating beam source and the photo detector. In this contribution we offer a possible systematization of different sources of noise in refractometric chemical sensors and analyze the influence of such fluctuations to the ultimate device performance.","PeriodicalId":273613,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Symposium on Industrial Electronics (INDEL)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124746551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Neural networks were trained individually, using the same training set and combined into clusters, depending on the training method used.
