Due to the nonstationary behavior of the sinusoidal components of the magnetic flux density (MFD), the time-frequency analysis based on the short-time Fourier transform (STFT) was performed. The selected results of the off-line analysis of the recorded signals of magnetic field of ship bow thruster drive with frequency converter are presented. The level of the magnetic field intensity was evaluated, in reference to the standards, which take into account the people protection against the excessive emission of the low-frequency magnetic field. Usually, they are connected to the grid via first-order inductive filter L, and in consequence inject to the grid parasitic current ripples caused VSI switching. This serious drawback can be removed by connecting APF's VSI via LCL filter. Such a solution requires control that overcomes resonance problem and, at the same time, maximizes control dynamics. This paper introduces novel, model based predictive controller for APF with LCL filter, which provides control dynamics limited only by circuit parameters. The only obstacle on using these devices is the production of high frequency harmonics that violates different standards such as (FCC, VDE, 461). In this paper the sources of various noises in switching power supplies will be introduced. Then, using appropriate model for high frequency transformers, a sample switching power supply will be simulated. In this simulation, the effect of leakage inductance on current and voltage waveforms of the input and output switches, which are the main cause of common mode differential mode noises and radiations, will be discussed and harmonically analyzed. For this purpose, a control scheme for the flow coefficient is derived based on the addition of external resistances in series with the rotor winding of the induction generator connected to the turbine. Due to the stalling behaviour, the generator increases its velocity as the flow coefficient of the turbine approaches the critical point at which the turbine losses power. The proposed control system does appropriately adapt the rotor resistance according to the entry pressure drop. CDFIG requires lower maintenance than DFIG due the absence of slip rings and brushes. It can operate with secondary side converter with fractional ratings of the total power. The use of power factor corrector (PFC) rectifiers to handle the CDFIG slip power is investigated in the paper. The three-phase Minnesota rectifier and a three-phase/switch/level PWM rectifier called Vienna rectifier are considered. Trains including electric and reciprocating machines are subject to the most varied and often most severe torsional disturbances in comparison to other machinery classes. If shaft or rotating component failures occur as a result of shaft torsional oscillations, the consequences can be catastrophic. In this paper a comprehensive model and solutions using analytical formulations are developed to study both steady state and transient response of complex reciprocating and electrical trains. Analytical results are presented and recommendations for torsional reliable trains are addressed. Couplings being the more accessible components within the train are often modified to tune the overall system.
