The finite element models of the lathe bed, the base and the workbench were built up. The first five modal frequencies were extracted by free modal analysis. The analysis results showed that the low-order frequencies of the lathe bed were approximate to those of the base, which would cause vibration resonance. The bolt joints were equivalent with the model made of the linear spring-damper element COMBINE 14 between two nodes in ANSYS. The finite element model of the combined structure was built up with 294 elements. The modal frequencies obtained by theoretical modal analysis were basically coincided with those obtained in modal experiment. This proved the rationality of the equivalent model of the bolt joints and the reliability of the modal analysis results of the combined structure. Changing the structure and dimension of the part and component increased the modal frequencies of the lathe bed and the base. In this paper, a pure distributed modeling framework (called DMTSS) for large-scale traffic simulation is proposed. DMTSS consists of low-cost PCs networked by high-speed local area network, the heavy computational task is divided into multiple light subtasks according to transportation subnets, and subtasks are distributed to these PCs. A distributed database is used to hold necessary data, and a distributed synchronization mechanism is employed to improve the efficiency of synchronization. To ensure the system stably running for long time, the failure recovery scheme is presented to recover the system from error state. Implemented details such as communication and are also discussed. Computer aided fixture design (CAFD) is an effective way for the situation. The designer's participation and experience are necessary for the traditional CAFD system. A new design system is developed in the article for the special purpose jig and fixture by applying artificial intelligence (AI) technology into the CAFD system, using the theory of the expert system and technology of the 3D modelling. It discusses the configuration, the general function modules, the knowledge representation, the reasoning mechanism and the standard component base of the jig and fixture. This paper explored the technology of intelligence and optimization in the process of the jig and fixture design. This paper focuses on the features and functionality of the virtual intelligent vehicle in driving simulation system. Intelligent vehicle should first distinguish the roadway network in order to drive correctly along a certain path. Then the intelligent vehicle should be able to obtain the traffic information efficiently and to execute the decision-making process to response to the changing driving environment. This paper describes a method to construct the virtual intelligent vehicle using database technology and the collision detection algorithm. The experiment result illustrates that the virtual intelligent vehicles in virtual traffic environment can simulate the human vision genuinely and exhibit human-like driving behavior.
