Recently, social innovation is emerging as strategy for solving social problems around the world. Social innovation means more effective, sustainable and new solutions that increase total values of society. This study attempts to introduce microworks of the Samasource as a case of the business-community innovation model using IT. Samasource is one of three social ventures under the nonprofit organization Sama Group established in 2008. Its mission is to alleviate worldwide poverty by connecting unemployed people in impoverished countries to digital work. Based on the internet model “microwork\", they split huge digital projects into small scales, and deliver them to BOP(Bottom Of Pyramid) groups through the internet. This case describes a business model, revenue model, and impact of Samasource's Microwork. Implications of the case were suggested in the conclusion. {"title":"An Exploratory Study on Mobile App Review through Comparative Analysis between South Korea and U.S.","authors":"Hyuk Cho, Juyoung Kang, D. Jeong","doi":"10.9716/KITS.2016.15.2.169","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.9716/KITS.2016.15.2.169","url":null,"abstract":"Smartphone use is rapidly spreading due to the advantage of being able to connect to the Internet anytime, anywhere--and mobile app development is developing accordingly. The characteristic of the mobile app market is the ability to launch one’s app into foreign markets with ease as long as the platform is the same. However, a large amount of prior research asserts that consumers behave differently depending on their culture and, from this perspective, various studies comparing the differences between consumer behaviors in different countries exist. Accordingly, this research, which uses online product reviews (OPRs) in order to analyze the cultural differences in consumer behavior comparatively by nationality, proposes to compare the U.S. and South Korea by selecting ten apps which were released in both countries in order to perform a sentimental analysis on the basis of star ratings and, based on those ratings, to interpret the sentiments in reviews. This research was carried out to determine whether, on the basis of ratings analysis, analysis of review contents for sentiment differences, analysis of LDA topic modeling, and co-occurrence analysis, actual differences in online reviews in South Korea and the U.S. exist due to cultural differences. The results confirm that the sentiments of reviews for both countries appear to be more negative than those of star ratings. Furthermore, while no great differences in high-raking review topics between the U.S. and South Korea were revealed through topic modeling and co-occurrence analyses, numerous differences in sentiment appeared-confirming that Koreans evaluated the mobile apps’ specialized functions, while Americans evaluated the mobile apps in their entirety. The applications “App\" operated in the LTE wireless network are mostly being developed with Android-based. But Android-based malwares are surging and they are the potential DDoS attacks. DDoS attack is a major information security threat and a means of cyber attacks. DDoS attacks are difficult to detect in advance and to defense effectively. To this end, a DMZ is set up in front of a network infrastructure and a particular server for defensive information security. Because There is the proliferation of mobile devices and apps, and the activation of android diversify DDoS attack methods. a DMZ is a limit to detect and to protect against DDoS attacks. This paper proposes an information security method to detect and Protect DDoS attacks from the terminal phase using a Preemptive military strategy concept. and then DDoS attack detection and protection app is implemented and proved its effectiveness by reducing web service request and memory usage. DDoS attack detection and protecting will ensure the efficiency of the mobile network resources. This method is necessary for a continuous usage of a wireless network environment for the national security and disaster control. {"title":"A Study on the Frequency of the Enterprise Informatization Variables : Focused on SER-M Framework","authors":"HaeSup Choi, Ja-Won Gu","doi":"10.9716/KITS.2016.15.2.125","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.9716/KITS.2016.15.2.125","url":null,"abstract":"By reclassifying and reinterpreting the factor variables that were used in precedent studies on company informatization by research theme and perspective on them success factor, the present study tried to examine how different the factor variables are in frequency of use and by period, and how importantly they were considered by research theme and perspective on its success factor, combining them with the studies done on mechanism point of view. The key findings of this study are as follows. First, it was found that the frequency of using mechanism variables, which are reclassified based on SER-M perspective, has gradually increased since 1990s. While the frequency of using resource factors sharply increased in 1990s, it decreased from 2000s. It indicates that more studies were conducted of mechanism factors other than resource factors from the early 2000s. Second, when looking at those variables reclassified by research them, it was found that such theme as decision maker, environment, and resource factors were more used than other research themes in the studies on the measuring factors of informatization. Mechanism factors turned out most used among overall research themes. In particular, they were more frequently used in studies related to the performance of informatization. This result evidences that mechanism-related variables are more importantly considered in the studies than other factors. This study produces a practical implication: what factors companies have to manage and secure intensively to attain successful informatization. In addition, this study helps companies seeking informatization understand and take advantage of SER-M factors on the basis of knowledge in the transitional process of the factor variables used in studies by period. The fact that lots of coffee stores are concentrated in the central area-Jongno and Jung-gu and commercial area-Gangnam and Seocho shows that the size of the floating population and potential customers is one of main drivers for making decisions on the locations of new stores. Except these 4 districts, the number of stores and population exhibit a positive correlation. By extracting the information on the 6 large coffee franchises store locations, we calculate the both haversine distances between stores of the same franchise and between stores of different franchises. We then empirically test the sitting and marketing strategies of Starbucks, Ediya, and Paik-Dabang using distance distributions. Significant pairs of Starbucks stores located within 100m confirm the sitting strategy of Starbucks which opens additional stores at crossways, stations, near shopping malls or other business zones though there already exist Starbucks stores. Meanwhile considerable portion of Ediya stores are found near Starbucks stores, which coincides with the sitting strategy of Ediya. It means that broadcast media, especially TV, affects the responses on social media. Moreover, the responses affect broadcast media ratings back. Social TV tried to use the relationship in marketing activities such as advertisement by analyzing the TV related social behavior. However, most of them used just the quantities of social media responses. This study analyzes the subjects of the responses on social media about specific TV dramas through topic modeling, and the relationship between the changes of popular topics and viewer ratings of the drama over specified periods. Five representative Korean dramas of 2014 were selected and Blog contents including viewer ratings about the dramas were collected from naver.com which is the representative portal in South Korea. The proposed analysis framework consists of three steps which are Blogs crawling, topic modeling, and topic trend analysis. We found some implications from the results of the topic trend analysis. Firstly, there were specific topics on dramas in social media. Secondly, the topics had some meaningful relationships with viewer ratings. Lastly, there were differences between the topics of dramas with higher viewer ratings and those with lower viewer ratings. However, T-Commerce market and TV home shopping market are being classified as a legal ‧ policy on other markets, such as regulated in the service of live broadcasts. The factor that has inhibited activation T-Commerce related to the lack of appropriate institutions and legal systems in the market, despite the environment with the digital broadcasting service is being spread. We were performed conjoint analysis. For this analysis, we select attributes as a quality attractive factors that significantly affects the satisfaction of TV based shopping customers through previous studies. The results showed that the TV-based shopping customers are important to think ‘Responsive’, ’Playfulness’, ‘Live broadcast’, ‘Convenience’ and ‘Bidirectional’ in the order. The ‘Responsive’ and ‘Live broadcast’ of such attributes are served as possible only in TV home shopping, because these attributes don’t service due to legal and institutional regulations in T-commerce market. The cluster analysis result also showed that TV shopping consumers are more important to think ‘Responsive’, ‘Playfulness’, ‘Live broadcast’ than ‘Convenience’ and ‘Bidirectional’, except one of the classification clusters. In this research, reCAPTCHA technique generally gives users to information security and decrypting archives. However, as a result of preliminary survey, most users were not even aware of information security and social contributions (decrypting archives) functions. Therefore, in this research, we will measure with two kinds of focus. The first is the assumption that there will be also a difference in the continuance use depending pro-social level of the user of information technology, second we explain only the function of information security to the first group as well as decrypting archives to the second group. Generally, pro-social means that degree of understanding and supporting to the other people's interest, actions, needs, help, and care. In this research, we assume that if users have a low level of others care, they might evaluate that reCAPTCHA technology's social contributions is low. While they have a high level of others care, they recognize reCAPTCHA technology's social contribution is high and then they tend to use this technology continuously.
