The hand exoskeleton can provide hand assistance and improve the patient’s grasp. In this article, a novel wearable flexible hand exoskeleton is proposed to assist users in activities of daily life. To create a simple and lightweight assistive hand exoskeleton, 3D printing is used to manufacture most of the components, and a remote drive system is designed to reduce the weight of the hand exoskeleton. A ball pair device and a slider device are used to ensure the freedom of the thumb and the adaptability of the hand exoskeleton to different hand sizes. First, an inverse backstepping transformation is introduced to obtain a target system. Then, by active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) method, the disturbance is estimated via a disturbance estimator with time-varying gain. When the unmatched disturbances are absent, the disturbance estimator is exponentially convergent to the matched disturbance. Furthermore, in order to reject the matched disturbance and obtain the input-to-state stability of the system, the controller is proposed by using the disturbance estimator. {"title":"Optimization of seawater desalination operations based on online prediction of water load","authors":"Minliang Gong, Yan-Long Qin","doi":"10.1109/YAC57282.2022.10023913","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/YAC57282.2022.10023913","url":null,"abstract":"The influence of uncertain changes in factors such as large fluctuations in water load and operating environment makes it difficult to achieve the expected cost reduction target for the optimization of fixed water dispatching plan and conventional forecast water consumption method, so an operation optimization method of desalination system based on moving average forecasting method and online updating of water production capacity of actual water load is proposed. First, the mathematical mechanism model of the reverse osmosis desalination system is established, the variation characteristics of the 24-hour cycle are simulated according to the operating parameters, and the optimization proposition aiming at the lowest cost within 24 hours is obtained. Then, through the analysis of the historical water consumption and production data from seawater desalination system, predicted water production schedule for the day ahead, and the later water production plan is continuously updated based on the obtained real-time water consumption data and the moving average prediction method data. The optimization problem containing differential-algebraic equations is discretized into a non-linear programming problem through finite element configuration. Combined with the online update prediction of water consumption, the system’s reverse osmosis desalination process optimization operation strategy is given. Finally, a case study on the optimal operation of the reverse osmosis seawater desalination system is carried out to verify the validity of the method proposed in this paper. In order to improve the economy of the vehicle significantly, the start-up cost of the internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric motor (EM) need to be considered adequately when studying the EMS. But, start-up cost is dependent on time, which makes it difficult to apply dynamic programming (DP) to the EMS. To make the start-up cost relatively easy to handle, the HEV control problem is converted to an optimal switch problem in this paper. Then, we proposes a feedback hierarchical operation (FHO) algorithm, which can get optimal schedule of HEV. In this paper, the principle of static wireless charging system is analyzed, the working state of soft switch of primary side inverter is analyzed, and the condition of realizing soft switch is obtained. The curve of switching current value with frequency is obtained by MATLAB under the condition of coupling. On this basis, the variable step size disturbance observation method is proposed to control the inverter output turn-off current to realize the characteristics of soft switch and improve the inverter output voltage and current waveform. Finally, a 10kW static wireless charging simulation model is built in SIMULINK. The dynamic surface control technology is used to design the angle of attack autopilot of the aircraft and the Radial basis function (RBF) neural network is used to realize the adaptive approximation of the uncertain part of the model, to suppress the interference and accurately track the instructions. Firstly, according to the relevant knowledge of optimal control, a distributed controller is designed for each follower to form a target configuration at an appointed time. Then, the global convergence of the designed controller is strictly proved through the convergence analysis of each sampling time and each sampling interval. It is worth noting that this appointed time is arbitrary, and the initial states of several leaders can uniquely determine the target configuration. However, today’s multi-agent reinforcement learning faces two challenges: 1) the global state is always used to train the neural network, which is hard to obtain in the real-world; 2) compared to the global state, concatenating local observations decreases the performance of multi-agent reinforcement learning algorithms. These challenges make it difficult to apply multi-agent reinforcement learning algorithms in real-world scenarios. To solve these challenges, we proposed the Graph-QMIX algorithm, where all agents are seen as a graph, and the graph convolutional neural network is used to integrate the local observations of the agents. We evaluate our method in map 2s vs lsc and map 10m vs 11m of SMAC environment.
