Convergences and variations between the classic vulgate of the myth and the pseudo-rewriting of Microcosmi are highlighted. The essay also focuses on the Indian myth of Savitri and Sátiavan, to understand the source of the many substantial variations and, in particular, the reversal of roles between male and female characters. This myth turns out to be a privileged source for the rewritings of the Orpheus’ myth that are offered by Magris in his Microcosmi.","PeriodicalId":270497,"journal":{"name":"Biblioteca di Studi di Filologia Moderna","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130799936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The current essay focuses on Magris and Greece through employing two different approaches. On the one hand, it highlights Magris’ interest in Greek culture, art and literature. In his works, Magris reflects on the diachronic presence of classical heroes, such as Ulysses or Antigone, within the broader field of world literature. On the other, this essay aims to analysing the reception of Magris’ translations in Greece, including the literary criticism of his works.","PeriodicalId":270497,"journal":{"name":"Biblioteca di Studi di Filologia Moderna","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130940044","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Überhaupt. Stop. Collagen. 1996-2000. by Austrian writer Marlene Streeruwitz. It presents the author and body of her narrative work, analyses her programmatic poetics and investigates the collage as a technique, aesthetic principle and mode of thought, before moving on to the examination of the primary text. It thus addresses a noticeable gap in the reception of Streeruwitz’ work (as this collection has been virtually ignored, also internationally) and provides methodological and aesthetic insights relevant to the analysis of other literary collages, while also providing a comprehensive resource for the study of Streeruwitz and her oeuvre.","PeriodicalId":270497,"journal":{"name":"Biblioteca di Studi di Filologia Moderna","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131453339","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The volume contextualizes the work in the Medieval Icelandic literature’s framework and offers an overlook at philological issues, such as, for example, the relationship between the existing manuscripts and the genesis of the saga. In addition, the volume also provides a literary analysis of the style, characters and text, based on some of the recent academic studies. The Ljósvetninga saga tells the story of the continuous struggles between two families in Northern Iceland for supremacy over the territory: through the extensive references to legal practices, it remains a precious example of medieval Icelandic culture.","PeriodicalId":270497,"journal":{"name":"Biblioteca di Studi di Filologia Moderna","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134416014","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
