CSP plants may contain thermal storage units to provide electrical and thermal energy during the night or when the weather is cloudy. Concentrated thermal and electrical energy generation requires high direct solar radiation (DNI) which represents 90% of the sunlight on a sunny day and its value is neglected on a cloudy day, so (CSP) is effective in the sun belt regions, which are located at latitudes between 15 and 40 degrees north and south of the equator, these regions include: the Middle East, North Africa, South Africa, India, southwestern United States, Mexico, Chile, Peru, eastern China, Australia, southern Europe and Turkey. Also, solar radiation is high at high latitudes, as dispersion is low. The best areas to install CSP plants are the areas where direct solar radiation (DNI) is greater than (2800 kwh/m2 per year). The time taken to build CSP plants is from (1-3) years depending on the size of the plant, and its operational life is more than 30 years. The area needed by these plants is 2 hectares per megawatt. This article highlights on the systems for generating electric power from concentrated solar energy and presents the different fluids used in heat transfer, as well as the methods of thermal storage.","PeriodicalId":270119,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130417816","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Devices such as fuel cells, redox flow batteries, and electrolyzers are examples of devices that may significantly cut greenhouse gas emissions. These devices rely on ionic conductive polymers or ionomers (protonic, anionic, and amphoteric). For a variety of applications ranging from mobile to automotive and cogeneration systems, such ionomers must have high chemical and mechanical stability, performance and durability, low reagent permeability, and weight, volume, and current density. Unfortunately, the expensive cost of perfluorinated ionomers, as well as anionic polymers' low stability in alkaline settings, limit their usage.","PeriodicalId":270119,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126980838","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other hand, the electricity demand is highest in the summer months, since households and businesses are using air conditioning on hot days. on-grid solar systems could be one of the solutions to the issue of increasing demand for electrical energy in the hot day, also these systems do not require bulky and costly batteries and need fewer solar panels due to no need for generating extra power when there is no sunlight, these advantages made this method the most common solar systems and widely used for homes and business. This article highlights the methods of solar systems connecting, and presents the sizing of the (on-grid) solar system with a capacity of 10kw.","PeriodicalId":270119,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129789961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Considering the non- renewable energy unavailability, as well as, the environmental impact, renewable energy should be the first choice. Most of the power generation in Bangladesh comes from nonrenewable energy and a noticeable amount of energy is imported from abroad. As a developing country, it is not cost-efficient and never ensures energy security. To ensure long-term energy security, it is time to shift power generation from nonrenewable to renewable energy generation. This paper presents an approximate calculation for the renewable power generating plant cost and returning year. The cost calculation is done in the context of Bangladesh.","PeriodicalId":270119,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115335499","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mainly it is faces by rural area peoples. Mostly drinking water is available from wells and rivers. Because of high population and industrialisation this water might be contaminated with harmful substances such as bacteria and therefore unsafe drinking water. Purification of water by solar is most useful and economic and safe solution. Solar still are mostly useful in rural and tribal area to provide clean water. Solar water still easy to construct, output depend on type of model. And it is operated by unskilled person easily no hard maintenance required and no operational cost and are also clean and safe process and no any type of pollution spread by this process. In this experimentation work comparison is to be made between with and without use of phase change material. It is observed that use of latent storage in solar still will increase water output.","PeriodicalId":270119,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114637814","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But due to the depletion of fossil fuels day to day, the world is moving towards the Electric Vehicles (EVs) to overcome this problem. Electric Vehicles have higher efficiency and weight/power ratio. In general, DC motors were used in electric vehicles. The DC motors could not meet the requirements of customer needs because of its low speed range. In the recent studies, an AC Induction motor has several advantages over DC motors because of its robustness, high speed range, and efficiency and weight/power ratio. This paper presents the performance analysis of AC Induction motor when fed with the Single-Phase Inverter. The gate pulses are given by using Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) technique. The results are then compared with the performance of DC motor using MATLAB/SIMULINK.","PeriodicalId":270119,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127995610","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
