Despite its poor track in fulfilling timeline and required result, there are also other challenges to consider, for instance lack of critical location, weather, fire, land tenure, community habit and capability, and cost optimization. In attempt to respond these challenges, an innovation in management system is constructed at PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam, embracing and tailoring all related challenges, difficulties, and complexities, escalating the activity to be beyond compliance. So that it will be able to deliver more than merely avoid the identified potential risks towards company. The management system, called PIRAMIDA TINGGI (Pemberdayaan Masyarakat untuk Melestarikan Hutan di Dunia demi Ketahanan Energi Nasional), actively involves government, community, and business sector as equilateral triangle that work together to perform watershed rehabilitation planting. Developed using ISO 9001:2015 process approach namely PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act), the PIRAMIDA TINGGI system is in line as well with NAWACITA (President Joko Widodo’s vision, mission and program). To encounter other issue found during field work, this system is equipped as well with another innovation tool named PARIDA, a geospatial mobile-desk top-web application that easily able to map and identify vegetation in real time for further geo-analyzing multi-purposes, to be operated by local community. Full set implementation of this system has benefitted all parties. To Company in form of significant cost efficiency around 13.9 MUSD and 7 days’ faster result delivery besides obligation fulfillment, for others in form of broader advantage of proven sustainability project that has gave contribution to 5P (People, Planet, Prosperity, Partnership and Peace), objectives required by UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030.","PeriodicalId":269847,"journal":{"name":"Proc. This condition leads to increasing project risk, rising cost, and eventually decreasing company’s profit. New development projects may become sensitive to cost. Low oil price environment has made the situation even more challenging. This paper will discuss the strategy being implemented in Mahakam to overcome the challenges as a mature asset. Having produced for more than 40 years, Mahakam fits perfectly in the category of mature, thus fundamental changes are needed for ensuring its sustainability. One of the main focus areas is cost effectiveness. Cost structure was investigated in order to identify the main cost drivers. Then, multiple workshops were held to discuss any possible solutions to improve the cost effectiveness. For capturing ideas from bigger audience, an online platform was created where employees can submit ideas. Lastly, a communication media is regularly distributed to maintain employee’s engagement to the program. Seven pillars in cost effectiveness have been identified for Mahakam to respond to the current situation; Budget accuracy, technical standardization and innovation, change of working philosophy, operations optimization, supply chain optimization and renegotiation, cooperation with other companies, and organizational right-sizing. Several initiatives under those pillars have been successfully implemented resulting in 20% reduction of operational cost in 2019 and will be sustained for the years to come without compromising safety. As the challenge facing mature fields is typically similar, the aforementioned approach will likely not only be applicable in Mahakam but also in other mature fields. Some adaptations might be needed to adjust with the specific characteristic of each individual field. Cost effectiveness will generate capability to continue future investment for sustaining the life of mature fields which is one of the key elements for securing energy supply in Indonesia.","PeriodicalId":269847,"journal":{"name":"Proc. The most common interpretation for pressure analysis is pressure-depth plot analysis, but other techniques that magnify understated pressure differences are also available. Formation pressure measurement is of immense value in quantitative evaluation and risking of prospects. Once the pressure data has been acquired, we need to understand how to interpret the data received because reservoir pressure data has numerous applications and interpreting it wrongly could make the results misleading. At equilibrium state (i.e. there are no net forces, and no acceleration), a fluid in the system is called hydrostatic equilibrium. Hydrostatic pressure increases with depth measured from the surface due to the increasing weight of fluid exerting downward force from above. The traditional pressure evaluation is usually done in conventional unit such as psi, kPa, psi/feet, psi/m, kPa/m, ppg. The current work will introduce the concepts and definitions of formation pressure evaluation using Pressure Index (PI) with the unit g/cc. For better understanding of the application of PI, some reservoir studies are also discussed in this paper.","PeriodicalId":269847,"journal":{"name":"Proc. Indon. Petrol.
