It was deposited in a shallow marine environment with Tidal Shelf Ridge morphology. Sedimentology and seismic approaches are integrated in this study to understand lithofacies, depositional stages and morphological patterns of Tidal Shelf Ridge. The study is restricted to Zone 29, P-Field with available data being 5 wells data that have cores, 64 well data, and 3D seismic data. The lithofacies data of these wells is integrated with log data using a Multi Resolution Graph-based Clustering (MRGC) method to predict the lithofacies and depositional stage of other wells without core. There are 10 different lithofacies and 4 facies association identified from these well cores. Facies associations that were found refer to nomenclature of depositional stage of Tidal Shelf Ridge. The embryonic stage consists of claystone-siltstone or calcareous highly-cemented sandstone (with erosional contact), which is the stage of beginning of deposition of the shelf ridge. The immature accretion stage consists of siltstone and sandstone with an intense heterolithic structure. The mature accretion stage consists of sandstone with little or no appearance of heterollitic structure. The abandonment stage is the final stage of shelf ridge that consist of calcareous highly-cemented sandstone without erosional contact. Stratigraphic pattern based on vertical order of facies association is showing 5 transgressive parasequence tracts bounded by 6 flooding surface markers. Based on seismic attributes, which is an average of amplitude x thickness in parasequence, the pattern and morphology of tidal shelf ridge body is relatively northeast – southwest direction. The results of this study are expected to be a reference in developing more advanced hydrocarbon production by understanding of the morphology of reservoir body.","PeriodicalId":269847,"journal":{"name":"Proc. A Structural Integrity Program as part of the SIM is required as an ongoing process to ensure fitness-for-purpose of an offshore structure. Medco E&P developed the SIM system based on API RP2SIM in year of 2014 and has been successfully implementing it for the last 6 years. Based on this system, the interval of underwater inspection has been lengthened from every 2 years (time based inspection) into 4-10 years interval depend on the platform criticality. The potential cost saving of 70% is obtained as a result of implementation the underwater inspection for 10 years period based on inspection practices recommended in API RP 2SIM. The implementation of SIM process based on API RP 2SIM includes managing data, evaluation, strategy and program, the continuous improvement efforts and lesson learned. Medco E&P has implemented an advanced SIM program by determining the underwater inspection program based on risk based underwater inspection and consistently revisit and review the methodology; conduct the advanced analysis for reserve strength ratio; manage platform requalification; follow-up underwater inspection and repair; develop the integrated database system and the platform healthiness dashboard. The integrated database SIM System established a good practice for managing data record, data trending and data update since the system itself contains the platform of general information such as; the inspection data, inspection plan, structural analysis record, change record, reference document as well as the reporting tools. This dashboard is a combined status of initiatives, programs, implementation and evaluations that enables the integrity status can be accessed by management or other groups in the Company to promote effective communication and basis for decision making.","PeriodicalId":269847,"journal":{"name":"Proc. Anionic surfactant synthesized by compatibility test was done with addition of alkali. There were five (5) types of alkaline surfactant solution used. Solution compatibility tests included aqueous stability, interfacial tension (IFT) or critical micelle concentration (CMC) at reservoir temperature (60°C), phase behavior test by observing the microemulsion formation for 24 hours, filtration test with a filtration ratio limit value of less than 1.2, thermal stability test for 7 days and spontaneous imbibition test with observation for 42 hours. There were two types of solutions that passed the aqueous stability test, interfacial tension test (IFT), phase behavior test, and thermal stability test, namely, alkali surfactant (AS) 1 ((NaOH) 0.1% + O400O 0.3%) and alkaline surfactant (AS) 2 ((Na2CO3) 0.5% + O400O 0.3%). The filtration test result from AS 1 showed FR value of 1.15 and AS 2 showed FR value of 1.17. In the imbibition test stage, the test was carried out at reservoir temperature of 60°C. From 42 hours of observation, 39% of oil was obtained by using brine, AS 2 solution attained 57%, and AS 1 solution attained 75.5%. This could be used as a basis in EOR implementation on sandstone reservoirs.","PeriodicalId":269847,"journal":{"name":"Proc. Indon. Petrol. This field has been producing gas and condensate since 1977. Based on Atmadibrata and Joenoes (1993) gas production in this field had increased at that time up to an average level of 3,300 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). The total daily volume of 2.230 MMSCFD was transported to the LNG plant for liquefaction and trade, 145 MMSCFD was provided to the household showcase and domestic market, 55 MMSCFD was utilized for fuel and 870 MMSCFD was reinjected into the reservoir in order to maximize condensate recovery. This study intends to understand the relationship between the depositional environment of the Arun field reservoir to the production rate of the reservoir. The excess pressure is caused by loading or unloading of sediments. To predict pore pressure values, the Eaton method is used. Supporting data such as wireline logs, formation pressure data, drilling mud weight data, 3D seismic data, and geochemical data, are used to support distribution and control overpressure in the study area. Seismic data processing uses two types of data namely PSDM seismic volume and data speed intervals velocity. Process interval data velocity from seismic is useful in making excess pressure distribution. Seismic PSDM volume is useful for subsurface geological imaging, where in the manufacturing process horizons and structures are determined. Top overpressure in each research well is in the Intra Gumai formation, while the overpressure distribution in the study area is also close to the peak of the Gumai formation. The mechanism of the cause of overpressure in the study area is the unloading mechanism in the form of smectite mineral that has undergone diagenetic processes into illite and hydrocarbon maturity. The overpressure distribution in the research area is associated with a sequence stratigraphy which has low permeability, which is controlled by the intra Gumai formation which has a small permeability to the intra gumai formation, in addition to the excess pressure distribution is also inseparable from the dismantling factor including Diatctite mineral diagenesis to the Ilit Excessive pressure is observed in any research well in Gumai.","PeriodicalId":269847,"journal":{"name":"Proc. The objective is to generate simplified monitoring performance of artificial lift with a huge number of wells on one page by creating quadrant mapping consisting of two coordinates with x axis representing pump efficiency and y axis showing pump submergence. We made a four-quadrant limit by pump efficiency (50%) and submergence (200 m). Optimum wells will show on range pump efficiency above 50% and submergence below 200 m, and 3 other quadrants are classified as artificial lift problems, well potential and sizing/design problems. By using the quadrant mapping concept, we can generate performance of artificial lift for 1500++ wells in one page, and this mapping consists of four quadrants (quadrant 1, quadrant 2, quadrant 3 and quadrant 4), quadrant 1 showing wells which have artificial lift problem, quadrant 2 showing well which have potential to increased production , quadrant 3 showing the optimum wells operation and quadrant 4 showing the wells which required to re-sizing/re-design artificial lift, this mapping can be shown to Engineers, manager’s and shareholder to show overall performance and classification detailed problems to create a troubleshooting, optimization program to increased oil production, run life artificial and result in better production performance. This mapping also helps petroleum engineers to get a better field view and create priorities and program optimization based on the quadrant mapping result and classification.","PeriodicalId":269847,"journal":{"name":"Proc. At the same time, reducing well cost was also a paramount importance to ensure that the economic targets of the wells were achieved following the reduction of well stakes. One of the remaining unsolved enigmas is how to achieve No Wait-on-Cement (NO WOC) on surface diverter section as this will create a lot of rig time saving both on single well and batch operations. The project begins with several different kinds of proposal until the best solutions were identified fulfilling safety, simplicity of operations and acceptable cost and finally were put in place with very satisfying results. The main key principle is conversion wellhead stages following well architecture while there were several modifications of casing hanger, adapter, additional materials & modified procedure. Rig time saving, additional operational gain and a promising new “breakthrough” of drilling technique become a significant impact of the successful effort. Now the method has become a standard in PHM operations and has already been integrated to SDI (Standard Drilling Instruction). The merit of this endless hard work could possibly be gained by other operators as it will create more added values both tangible and intangible.","PeriodicalId":269847,"journal":{"name":"Proc. Oil theft attempts through illegal tapping is one of the challenges in operating Rokan block. PT CPI experienced 16 spill cases with a volume of 1,085.98 barrels in 2018-2019 as reported to The Government of Indonesia. The investigation using why tree method is conducted to identify the system level root causes described through tree branches. Five investigations in 2018-2019 reveal the repetitive root cause pattern. Significant root causes related to spill due to illegal tapping are key stakeholders’ engagement, surveillance resources, surveillance method and emergency response. Recommendations developed to these root causes create a comprehensive strategy to overcome spill due to illegal tapping. Comprehensive strategy by conducting continuous engagements to state government and local government, increasing personnel for surveillance resources, improving surveillance method and implementing thorough response has created significant impacts. Decreasing number of spill case in 2020 affects the revenue performance on financial aspect. Hiring local community for additional surveillance resources creates positive social impact for operation of PT CPI. Improved surveillance program shows sustained oil flow supporting the operation. Environmental impacts could be reduced by deploying response team immediately, recovering and cleaning the site according to regulation related to hazardous waste. Comprehensive strategy from PT CPI can be adopted by other Production Sharing Company (PSC) operators to maintain sustainability to deliver optimum production to meet the national target.","PeriodicalId":269847,"journal":{"name":"Proc. Revised stratigraphic interpretations were combined with zircon U-Pb geochronologic data to produce new tectonic reconstructions of the Indonesian provinces of West Papua and Papua. Zircon U-Pb geochronologic data used in this study include new results from the Papuan Peninsula, combined with existing datasets from West Papua, Papua New Guinea, eastern Australia and New Caledonia. Supplementary geochronologic data were used to provide independent validation of the biostratigraphic data. Findings from a compilation of biostratigraphic and zircon age data provide a framework to produce new tectonic models for the origin of New Guinea’s terranes. Two hypotheses are presented to explain observations from the biostratigraphic and geochronologic data. The ‘Allochthonous Terrane’ Model suggests that many of the terranes are allochthonous in nature and may have been derived from eastern Australia. The ‘Extended Rift’ Model suggests that the New Guinea Terranes may have been separated from north-eastern Australia by an elongate rift system far more extensive than previously described. These new tectonic models are essential for our geological understanding of the regional and can be used to drive successful petroleum exploration in this frontier area.","PeriodicalId":269847,"journal":{"name":"Proc. Said","doi":"10.29118/ipa20-g-151","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.29118/ipa20-g-151","url":null,"abstract":"Tambora Field reservoir zone is sub-divided into D, E, F and G. Of the four zonation, Tambora G Zone has the lowest recovery factor. Based on this, the current study was intended to have better understanding of the diagenetic processes in low productivity reservoirs and its development strategy in that zone. Reduction of porosity and permeability due to different diagenetic intensity and causes are possible reasons for this condition. A new-improved petrology study was performed to understand the effects of diagenesis and the contribution of clay minerals which has led to worsening reservoir characteristics. In order to achieve better understanding of reservoir characteristics, integrated petrology analysis of petrography, XRD, SEM and CEC were performed. The results of detailed lithofacies analyses show that low productivity related to poor porosity and permeability is primarily caused by mechanical compaction and are worsened by chemical diagenesis related to isolated pore spaces, unconnected pore throats and depositional environment. Those affects the increase of diagenetic quartz-overgrowths, ferroan/iron-bearing and calcareous minerals. The occurrence of these minerals act as a pore-filling cement and are more developed in clean rather than shaly Sandstones. The most dominant diagenetic clay mineral in all lithofacies is recorded as kaolinite, followed by illite, chlorite and illite-smectite with this trend varying relative to depth and lithofacies. The effect of these factors is more intense when burial depth increases, and the depositional environment is increasingly distal as in the G Zone’s northeast area. Referring to this, and in order to minimize the risks of diagenetic minerals causing low productivity, the well placement strategy is addressed to the south and northwest compared to the northeast area. The proven result of applying this approach is the success story of drilling the TM-132 northwest well in 2019 that reached an initial gas rate production of around 3 MMscfd.","PeriodicalId":269847,"journal":{"name":"Proc.
