This study aims to examine the effectiveness of information services using the problem based learning (PBL) method to reduce student academic stress. This study used a pre-experimental approach with the design of one group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study were 20 students taken by purposive sampling technique. The instrument uses an academic stress scale developed from Aldwin's theory by measuring physical, emotional and behavioral symptoms. Analysis techniques using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The results showed that information services with the PBL method were effective in reducing student academic stress. This can be seen from the decrease in posttest scores that occurred in all students who were given information services using the PBL method.","PeriodicalId":269345,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Educational and Learning Studies","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114166977","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study was to reveal the forms of student absence and the quality of the implementation of information services about absenteeism. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research, the sample used was 123 students using porous sampling technique. Data collected using questionnaire absenteeism and the scale of the implementation of information services about student absence (33 items valid, α = 0.851). Data analysis using percentage analysis and also t-test. The results showed that the most absent form of the students did was not entering school without permission 35 (28.4%) times and the least was days not going to school ie 2 (1.6%) times. The results showed that there was no significant difference in the implementation of information services about student absenteeism both conducted by state high school and private high school teachers with a good category of 71.67%.","PeriodicalId":269345,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Educational and Learning Studies","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123654678","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research purpose is to describe the effectiveness of the existing education and training program (Diklat) so that it could be improved to complete the implementation of similar programs in the future. Specifically, this research focused on measuring level of effectiveness from three aspects, which includes the reaction, learning, and potential behavioural changes aspect. The data was collected by using quantitative approach with descriptive evaluative method. There were 15 participants involved in this research. The result showed that the reaction level of participant toward the Diklat program was quite effective (63.39%). This aspect has a quite significant achievement in that there was a positive attitude of most of the participants in implementing the result of the program in workplace. Learning level of the participant increased with x ̅= 0.42 based on the pre-test and post-test result, while the measurement of potential behaviour changes level showed that the average score of participants' belief could be classified into high level (74%). In conclusion, the program had been conducted well and could be classified into effective level category.","PeriodicalId":269345,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Educational and Learning Studies","volume":"96 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114624046","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This led to the inception of the Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) smartphone device. The purpose of this study therefore was to determine the right instrument to measure the FoMO smartphone by analyzing response points obtained from respondents. The study sample consisted of three groups of test subjects, from large city, small town and villages with n values of 226, 248, and 55 respectively. The data in this study were obtained using the 5-point Likert scale politomy data from a Fear of Missing out scale instrument, distributed online. The research data were analyzed using the Rasch model by testing rating scale analysis through Threshold. The results showed that the rating scale answered choices turned into a 3-point Likert scale with those not right, less right, and very right.","PeriodicalId":269345,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Educational and Learning Studies","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121314845","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The result of data analysis showes 1) The performance of teachers is in good category with achievement level 78,5%; 2) Non material incentive is in good category with achievement level 75,6%, 3) Commitment work is in good category with achievement level 72%, 4) There is significant relation between giving non material incentive and work commitment with teacher performance. Based on the calculation results of correlation test between non-material incentive variable with teacher performance is obtained count equal to 0.248 while table is 0,235. Variable of non material incentive with work commitment variable is obtained count equal to 0,426 while table is 0,235. Work commitment variable with teacher performance is obtained count equal to 0,314 while table is 0,235. This study aimed to analyse the influence of instructional models and motor skills towards seventh grade-student achievement on sprint at SMPN 4 Kerinci. This study employed experimental methods, with treatment by level 2x2 design. Sample of this study is 64 students who involved within two treatment groups. Results of this study showed that group of students who were taught using creative play instructional model comprehensively performed better in sprint compared to the students taught using cooperative instructional model. There was an interaction between instructional models and motor skills towards student achievement on sprint.","PeriodicalId":269345,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Educational and Learning Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128940763","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
