Selecting fresh members with appropriate knowledge and skill is a challenging assignment for the selection committee experts/reviewers. Selection needs an extensive effort and cost which becomes more prominent while the organization hires entry-level professionals.Previous studies found that during shortlisting, candidates are filtered based on essential and additional criteria. While AHP and FAHP have been used in recent years for this purpose, we find the suitability index algorithm more promising. In this research work, we propose to develop a ranking algorithm for the recruitment of employees in a reputed academic institution.To create an employability index as a reference for finalizing eligibility of candidates in the future recruitment process for the same cadre of employees. The additional criteria may be generated from the employability index and the suitability score (rank) will be formed by using basic and additional criteria during the short-listing process for the upcoming recruitment cycle.","PeriodicalId":267921,"journal":{"name":"2020 National Conference on Emerging Trends on Sustainable Technology and Engineering Applications (NCETSTEA)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121371698","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is popular due to low cost solution and real world problem solving features. WSN is also very prone to attack due to the nodes which is resource constraint. Security is a vast topic with a lot of aspects and is so much paramount particularly for different types of attacks. The architecture of wireless networks is unstable and therefore their orientations transmission is what makes them vulnerable. This study has evaluated the threats on WSN; the most common threats are DoS, black hole attack and wormhole attack. These attacks generally lead to the data fragments within a network to be replicated or sometimes been destroyed. Therefore, there needs to be a detection system that acts as a firewall and that can be able to detect intrusions in real time scenarios. In this paper we tended to the most common attacks and proposed a novel detection algorithm, ready to identify intrusions in real time scenarios progressively situations with a proposition of expansion of future work.","PeriodicalId":267921,"journal":{"name":"2020 National Conference on Emerging Trends on Sustainable Technology and Engineering Applications (NCETSTEA)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131443204","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among all the MPPT algorithms, Perturb and Observe (P&O) algorithm is most commonly used because it is simple and easy to implement. But, the conventional P&O algorithm has some limitations. It has poor efficiency at steady state as the operating point oscillates around the maximum power point (MPP) and it shows poor dynamic response if a sudden change in atmospheric condition takes place. Also, for single phase Grid connected PV system, dc-link voltage contains a second harmonic ripple. This voltage ripple causes steady state oscillations in PV voltage. To overcome all these limitations, a modified P& O algorithm has been proposed in this paper. It shows improved steady state response and dynamic response during any change in atmospheric condition. The performance of the proposed scheme is verified using MATLAB/SIMULINK based environment.","PeriodicalId":267921,"journal":{"name":"2020 National Conference on Emerging Trends on Sustainable Technology and Engineering Applications (NCETSTEA)","volume":"269-270 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131696521","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we propose a new technique of transmitting sensed video in reduced format with a newly proposed Block based Fragmented Cosine Transform (BFCT). The scheme works by modifying DCT based operation which is computationally intensive in WMSN. The correlation among the frames of the video is measured followed by applying BFCT over only the sorted frames. As the technique is applied over an array of sensor so a newly designed dedicated routing technique is also employed along with BFCT. This helps in reducing the amount of transmitted data and hence saving communication energy. The performance of the scheme is measured by energy analysis, peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) followed by statistical analysis. The efficacy of the scheme is judged through simulation results based on energy and acceptable reconstruction quality.","PeriodicalId":267921,"journal":{"name":"2020 National Conference on Emerging Trends on Sustainable Technology and Engineering Applications (NCETSTEA)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114814651","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper has proposed a new mushroom-shaped, 2.4GHz dielectric resonator antenna having higher impedance bandwidth. This new antenna is designed using a material of dielectric constant near to 10 and can achieve a higher impedance bandwidth of about 71% which is, generally 10% in the case of conventional DRA. The hybrid antenna gain (5dB), higher radiation efficiency, wideband width, and voltage standing wave ratio can make it compatible with customized different applications of communications. The proposed antenna is lighter in weight and also cost-effective. Finite element methods have applied to design the antenna as well as verify the results.","PeriodicalId":267921,"journal":{"name":"2020 National Conference on Emerging Trends on Sustainable Technology and Engineering Applications (NCETSTEA)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124973860","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For accurate detection and classification of different movements, proper feature selection from EMG signals is necessary, failure of which may often lead to incorrect results. To this end, this article presents an image processing aided deep learning approach for detection and classification of hand movement EMG signals. In this study, EMG signals for both left hand and right hand movements were procured from an existing database. A reference signal for each category was chosen as reference and cross spectrum of the rest of the EMG signals was done with the reference signal. The resultant cross-wavelet spectrum images of both classes of EMG signals were fed to a pre-trained convolution neural network (CNN) for the purpose of detection and classification of hand movements. It has been observed that the proposed method returned an average classification accuracy of 97.6% in segregating different categories of EMG signals. Besides, the performance of the proposed method analyzed using different CNN architectures was also found to be robust. The proposed method can be implemented for real-time detection of hand movements.","PeriodicalId":267921,"journal":{"name":"2020 National Conference on Emerging Trends on Sustainable Technology and Engineering Applications (NCETSTEA)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128500641","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
