Sea level rise has an impact on human life. One of the effects of rising sea levels is the tidal flood which is one of the adverse natural phenomena. Kawunganten District, Cilacap Regency is one of the areas affected by the tidal flood. The construction of the moveable dam is a solution to prevent damage to the region due to tidal flooding. In carrying out dam design planning required accurate tidal data. This study aims to obtain data and analysis of tides along the river to the river mouth. In determining tidal data, observations are made using an automatic survey tool called DIVER. The tidal analysis is done by applying the least square method to obtain the tidal harmonic constant at the study site. Base on observation data for 75 days, the results of tidal data analysis as a reference for planning flood management and moveable. The analysis gives the value of MSL (Mean Sea Level) of 0,996 m, MHWS (Mean High Water Spring) of 1,7 m, MLWS (Mean Low Water Spring) of 0,292 m, HHWS (Highest High Water Spring) of 1,992 m and LLWS (Lowest Low Water Spring) of 0,00 m as elevation reference for the infrastructure","PeriodicalId":267695,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 7th International Seminar on Ocean and Coastal Engineering, Environmental and Natural Disaster Management","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124865820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Otherwise, the several efforts to replace the synthetic fibres with the natural fibres due to the increase of environmental awareness and oil resources depletion have been conducted. The natural fibres such as coir, jute, hemp, ramie and bamboo which are available in abundance, biodegradable and low density is the main reason to explore the application potential in shipbuilding sectors. In this paper, the mechanical behaviour of coir and glass fibre reinforced polymer composites material is reviewed. The surface modification of the natural fibre are also reviewed and it is found that the surface treatment is an alternative method to improve the natural fibre mechanical properties for successfully utilizing the natural fibre in marine and shipbuilding applications. From this review of both coir and glass as a reinforced fibre, it is concluded that a focus on the material properties of coir fibre combined with the glass fibre as a hybrid material is needed if the behaviour of vessel hull composite structures during sailing operation and other sources of external load is to be fully understood.","PeriodicalId":267695,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 7th International Seminar on Ocean and Coastal Engineering, Environmental and Natural Disaster Management","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124227152","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In general, the Jacket is designed with an operating life of 20 to 25 years and in operation must be guaranteed the safety and strength of the Jacket structure. One of the safety factors that must be considered is corrosion growth in all parts of the Jacket structure. To overcome corrosion problems, there is a need for alternative corrosion improvements, namely the prevention of corrosion by using corrosion inhibitors. The organic inhibitor that can be used as corrosion inhibitors, one of which is cigarette butts, because it is contains a lot of nicotine. Nicotine can be used as an inhibitor by donating nitrogen atoms to nicotine to Fe2 + atoms so that complex compounds [Fe (NH3) 6] 2+ are formed. This compound has a higher stability than Fe so that it can be used as protection in corrosion. The purpose of this research is to solve the cigarette butts problem by creating it a corrosion inhibitor to minimize the cost of material replacement, maintenance costs, and over-design. This study is an experiment by using ASTM 36 steel, material will be blast cleaned in advance with abrasive material Steel Grid. Second steps in this study is the coating process by mixing epoxy paint and extraction of cigarette butts, then immersed in corrosive medium namely sea water of Kenjeran. Corrosion rate testing is carried out by using the weight loss method. The highest corrosion rate occurred at 1% mixing with a corrosion rate of 24.61 mpy and the lowest corrosion rate at 2% mixing with a corrosion rate of 13.78 mpy Based on this research it can be concluded that the nicotine that can be used as cathodic protection on coatings.","PeriodicalId":267695,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 7th International Seminar on Ocean and Coastal Engineering, Environmental and Natural Disaster Management","volume":"128 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115788741","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The conversion is conducted due to the change function of the ship. On the other hand, due to the change function of the ship, some items of the ship, such as equipment, need to be evaluated because of those related to the ultimate strength of the ship. The objective of the present study is to analyze the influence of additional equipment to the ultimate strength of FPSO under vertical bending moment for hogging condition. The cross-section of FPSO is taken by considering one-frame space. The numerical method is used, and the Multi-Point Constraint (MPC) is applied to both sides of the crosssection, and it is assumed to have remained plane. The shell element type is used for modeling the crosssection. The material properties are set to be constant. As a simple calculation, the ship’s cross-section is analyzed in intact. The additional equipment is calculated and included in the analysis to know the influence of it. The analysis of the ultimate strength, including their influence of additional equipment, is conducted under longitudinal bending. To compare the ultimate strength obtained by the numerical method, the analytical method is adopted. It is found that the ultimate strength gained by the numerical method is almost identical to the analytical method. The behavior of the ship’s cross-section is also presented in terms of stress distribution and deformation.","PeriodicalId":267695,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 7th International Seminar on Ocean and Coastal Engineering, Environmental and Natural Disaster Management","volume":"182 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116873344","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The white shrimp and milkfish that have been cultivated in silvofishery pond often fail to be harvested. Preliminary observations found that Pb content in Wonorejo ponds reached 0.082 ppm. The purpose of this study is to determine the toxicity of waters in the Wonorejo silvofishery ponds that contaminated with heavy metals (Pb, Cd, and Cu) toward Chanos chanos and Penaeus merquiensis. The results of the tests revealed that the concentrations of Pb, Cd, and Cu in R. Avour were 0.284; 0.0380; and 0.017 ppm respectively. On the other hand, the concentration of Pb in the pond water is 0.304; 0.047; and 0.024 ppm. Laboratory test shows that milkfish can survive in the condition where water is contaminated by heavy metals until the concentration increases ten times from the concentration of metals in nature, as long as the other environmental parameters are appropiate. Meanwhile, white shrimp cannot survive more than two days in these conditions.","PeriodicalId":267695,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 7th International Seminar on Ocean and Coastal Engineering, Environmental and Natural Disaster Management","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121710732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This reclamation can be carried out on lands that are on the coast, swamps, and offshore. In this study, land reclamation is intended as a port development area so that land requirements are in accordance with the port development plan on the coast. The location of this research is in the southern area of Ketapang Regency, West Kalimantan, which is 18 km from the Ketapang City Center. This regency does not yet have a coastal port, all of its ports are in the river, which certainly often occurs siltation due to sedimentation. Land reclamation is carried out to pursue the depth of the waters in accordance with the berthing of ships to be anchored so that no trestle construction is needed but by reclaiming it, it can save the cost of building the structure. The research method used in this study, by analyzing wind data as a reference for wave generation and calculating the wave deformation that occurs, bathymetry data as a reference for water depth, tidal data is intended as one in the design of the retaining wall height, estimated loading above the reclamation structure land, and the external forces that occur on the retaining wall. The design of the retaining wall uses geobags in a stacked manner, has a total height of 6.3 m buildups from sea level to the deepest seabed and forms a trapezoidal structure with a trapezoid peak width of 5.09 m (3 geobag lines) and a trapezoid base width 26.47 m (11 lines/stack). The size of Geobag 2 x 1.5 x 0.6 m. Geobag size is obtained from the calculation of the effect of waves on the geobag structure. So that the weight is determined by the required volume size and then the size is further reviewed by the effect of soil pressure due to the embankment for reclamation held by the geobag structure by analysis of overturning, sliding, and bearing capacity permitted exceeded.","PeriodicalId":267695,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 7th International Seminar on Ocean and Coastal Engineering, Environmental and Natural Disaster Management","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134388544","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, in majority of floating body performance prediction, the calculation of motion and strength performance is done separately. Practically, engineers calculate the motion and hydrodynamics forces that work on the structure, then do separate calculations on the structure to predict structure’s strength. These separate calculations often use assumptions that tend to be unrealistic, either over-constrained or under-constrained. This paper provides an alternative to the constraint problem by introducing hydrodynamic stiffness as boundary conditions, instead of using fixed or simply supported boundary conditions, spring boundary conditions are applied with hydrodynamic stiffness of floating body properties. It is expected that this model provides a more realistic constraint to the future analyses. The results achieved are very promising, where the boundary condition resulting a close natural frequency approximation compared with the analytical calculation. This configuration is hoped to be the baseline of more complex structure to be carried out in future research, in order to represent a more realistic structural displacement boundary condition.","PeriodicalId":267695,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 7th International Seminar on Ocean and Coastal Engineering, Environmental and Natural Disaster Management","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126747924","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since it is a floating structure, a mooring system is used to maintain its position. This study aims to determine the mooring tension that occurs on each mooring rope with a physical model test. This research was conducted on the type of pontoon and porous saw. In this study, it was found that on a porous saw type, the greatest maximum tension occurred at the mooring angle 30⁰ (3.98 N) while the smallest maximum tension occurred at the mooring angle 60⁰ (0.73 N). The pontoon type also gives the same result where the 30⁰ mooring angle gives the highest maximum tension (4.91 N) while the 60⁰ mooring gives the smallest maximum tension (1.27 N). Besides, the porous saw type of floating breakwaters can provide smaller mooring tension than the pontoon type. The porous saw type can reduce mooring tension by 10% up to 15% at an angle of 30⁰ - 60⁰.","PeriodicalId":267695,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 7th International Seminar on Ocean and Coastal Engineering, Environmental and Natural Disaster Management","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125186454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
