The EA consists of a hybrid amplifier combining switched and linear amplification. A bandwidth and slew-rate reduction algorithm has been incorporated in order to allow wide-band envelope amplifications. Non-linearities introduced by the Hybrid EA (HEA) and the dynamic supply are compensated with Digital Pre-Distortion. The ET PA has been tested using 64-QAM signals and commercial devices. The extracted pole technique is used to introduce transmission zero. The proposed metal-insert E-plane extracted pole resonator is suitable for direct integration with straight waveguide section. An additional modification of the structure is offered which facilities the design process and makes practical implementation more feasible. The discussed structure provides solution for all-metal E-plane filters with two transmissions zeros of extracted pole variety and proves to be particularly useful in diplexer design. Since the devices work in the near-field range of the antenna, the near-field measurement of the antennas is performed. A liquid phantom, a mixture from PEG and water, is chosen to emulate different tissues with regards to their dielectric properties. The system is characterized from 0.5 GHz to 5 GHz with pattern measurement both in E- and H-plane of the antennas. The short measured distance of 4-6 cm between two antennas in the liquid phantom is maintained. More specifically, a periodic network consisting of inductively coupled LC resonators is studied. It is demonstrated that the analyzed system exhibits a pass-band characterized by negative effective parameters (i.e., a double negative pass-band). The simplest systems are realized with direct connection between the oscillator and the resonant coil. To improve the system performance one or more relay elements can be used. In order to take into account the resonant frequency variations, which also tune oscillation frequency, a broadband harmonic balance (HB) design of the system is carried out with the oscillator load including the resonant coupling and the rectifier. The oscillator efficiency, the RF-to-DC system efficiency and the DC power are then directly optimized for any coupling distance of interest. A Royer-type oscillator is designed and prototyped using the proposed technique. The antenna consists of a hexagonal-shaped slot with a microstrip feed and L-shaped stub. An impedance transformer is used to improve the impedance matching of the slot antenna. The slot and feeding structure are fabricated on a low cost FR4 substrate. The measured results of the antenna prototype are 15.7% (3.2-3.75 GHz)15.5% (4.42-5.1 GHz) for 3-dB axial ratio bandwidths and 8.6% (3.41-3.70 GHz)15.5% (4.47-5.20 GHz) for VSWR<;2 impedance bandwidths, respectively, for the 3.5 GHz and 4.5 GHz operating frequency bands. The system is intended to operate 1D localization of generic device equipped with a common monopole antenna. The DoA estimation is possible regardless of the target antenna orientation. The system operates in circular polarization and it is designed to work without any form of calibration. We demonstrate that, in an anechoic setup, the mean errors for the DoA estimations are around 5 or 6 degrees for a wide range of target antenna orientations, while not exceed 11 degrees even in the worst case of deep fading. However, the dielectric loss of the dielectric substrates is no longer negligible increasing operational frequencies, and this fact causes difficulty for loss reduction of filters at millimeter-wave frequencies. It aimes at volume fraction determination in multi phase flows which is a relevant physical quantity for the mass flow determination in latter systems. Fundamentals concerning the material composition as well as necessary mixing equations for effective permittivities are investigated, discussed and adopted to the pseudo transmission measurement concept. In addition a transpolarizing reflector, which is essential for the pseudo transmission measurement method is discussed and evaluated in electromagnetic simulations. The proposed monitoring concept is validated in various electromagnetic field simulations.
