A short step commensurate transformer can be used for impedance matching simultaneously at several frequencies/bands, even for the important first harmonic frequency 2 f0. An automated synthesis procedure borrowed from the lowpass filter theory is fully described. This procedure can provide reflection zeros at arbitrary frequency locations, thus leading to general responses in terms of return losses and matching frequencies. The key issue for its proper operation is the channelization of the incoming signal into multiple sub-bands, that is performed at two stages: radio-frequency (RF) and intermediate-frequency (IF) levels. Thus, low-cost analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) can be employed for the sampling of these sub-bands to be subsequently processed at the digital level for the overall signal reconstruction. Special attention is given to the RF and IF channelizers, for which two suitable designs consisting of an eight-channel double-star-junction and a cochlea-like multiplexer, respectively, are devised. The NGD is generated using an antenna and a T-junction power divider. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first demonstration of employing an antenna to generate NGD. The NGD circuit cancels out the positive group delay caused by the feed lines within the array. A cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna is micromachined as a part of the package surrounding other active elements. This resonator is magnetically coupled to a nearby integrated coplanar-fed slotted dipole. The proposed filter comprises two tunable single-band filters and branch lines that achieve a nearly independent tuning capability of its center frequency and the bandwidth in each passband. In addition, when tuning the frequency characteristics of one passband the characteristics of the other passband are not significantly affected. The circuit modularity and the design choices enable for the reduction both of the topological complexity of the beam forming network and of the relevant ohmic losses with consequent improvements in the antenna gain. At the same time, this circuit allows us to manage only two RF channels (instead of the conventional three) combining Delta and Omnidirectional channels with the possibility to modulate Omni-channel signal. Following this novel space mapping-based strategy, the initial estimated layout is already very close to the optimum final solution, thus achieving a fast and very soft convergence rate of the whole synthesis procedure. Additionally, this synthesis method is able to evaluate the suitability of the proposed microstrip technology for implementing any given target frequency response. For this purpose, the convergence region of this synthesis algorithm (related to the physical realization of the CSRRs loading the host microstrip line), is obtained following an aggressive space mapping (ASM) technique. This paper focuses on the electromagnetic band-gap (EBG) characteristic of the mushroom structure with the suspending microstrip line, and a new concept of the mushroom interlaced periodic arrayal has proposed. By the simulated and measured results, it is verified that the mushroom structure with the suspending microstrip line can generate multi-band EBG characteristic. Moreover, we use the new concept to design a new triplexer circuit. The EA consists of a hybrid amplifier combining switched and linear amplification. A bandwidth and slew-rate reduction algorithm has been incorporated in order to allow wide-band envelope amplifications. Non-linearities introduced by the Hybrid EA (HEA) and the dynamic supply are compensated with Digital Pre-Distortion. The ET PA has been tested using 64-QAM signals and commercial devices.
