Abstract

This paper presents a compact fourth order based unconditionally stable 3-step locally one dimensional (LOD) finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. Dispersion analysis of the proposed method shows that due to the fourth order accuracy in space, compact fourth order 3-step LOD-FDTD method has less numerical dispersion error as compared to that of second order 3-step LOD-FDTD method.
