This has led to the development of several grid-connected PV systems topologies whose purposes are: (i) ensuring PV maximum power extraction (ii) DC-Link voltage regulation to guarantee balanced power exchange (iii) injection of grid current while maintaining prescribed Total Harmonic Distortion and power factor. Such topologies usually require the use of many voltage and current sensors in addition to a complex control strategy. With a view to reduce the system cost and control complexity, this paper proposes a sensorless Model Predictive Control based control strategy of a single-stage single-phase grid-connected photovoltaic system. Unlike other control methods, the proposed control scheme requires less number of sensor (two): only one current sensor and one voltage sensor to that required (five) in other control strategies. Detailed analysis and development of the sensorless multiloop control scheme are presented. The performance of the proposed technique is confirmed by means of simulation results under different environmental conditions in MATLAB/Simulink.","PeriodicalId":266552,"journal":{"name":"2021 12th International Renewable Energy Congress (IREC)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124150715","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The deviation of the acceptable voltage range and grid equipment overloads are the two main problems that compromise the smooth operation of the distribution grid. In this paper, the decentralized smart grid control strategy has been implemented on the current grid located in Jordan at a low voltage level to emulate how the Smart Grid concept would work as near as to reality. The DIgSILENT Power Factory software and Python are used in this study to obtain the results. The simulation results show excellent performance in terms of loading mitigation and voltage stability by integrating decentralized smart grid control","PeriodicalId":266552,"journal":{"name":"2021 12th International Renewable Energy Congress (IREC)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130698754","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Considering the large number of these important equipment in service, they emit pollutants into the immediate environment. To overcome the disadvantages of paraffinic and naphthenic oils, sustainable transformer oils are proposed by researchers. The aim of this paper is to present experimental tests on castor, olive and corn oils based breakdown voltage test. Employing oil breakdown voltage testing device and taking into account the moisture content and the adding of contaminants to the oil samples, the experimental tests have been done. The results showed that the vegetable oils have breakdown voltage complying with the international standard requirement. So, they can be used in power transformer instead of the mineral oils.","PeriodicalId":266552,"journal":{"name":"2021 12th International Renewable Energy Congress (IREC)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132128971","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed non-intrusive method identifies the faulty MOSFET based on the emitted near-field above the power conversion system. To detect the faulty switch, the wavelet packet transform is applied to extract a distinguishable electromagnetic signature. For the fault isolation, we focus on the two statistical moments, which are the mean value and the kurtosis of the radiated emissions. The proposed approach is verified through experimental results.","PeriodicalId":266552,"journal":{"name":"2021 12th International Renewable Energy Congress (IREC)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134194309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The plastic pyrolysis took place in the first stage, and the catalytic-dry reforming (presence of catalyst and carbon dioxide) of the produced pyrolyzed gases took place in the second stage reactor. The catalysts used (yRuxNiAl2O3) were synthesized via wet impregnation, calcined, and then reduced at 800°C, prior to the pyrolysis-reforming reaction. The results showed that the increase in nickel loading increased the syngas yield. The addition of small amounts of ruthenium as a metal promoter significantly improved the conversion of polypropylene into syngas. Thus, the catalytic dry reforming of plastics is proven to be a promising solution to tackle the non-recycled plastic waste problem while valorizing the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide and producing synthesis gas (H2 + CO).","PeriodicalId":266552,"journal":{"name":"2021 12th International Renewable Energy Congress (IREC)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133520982","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The suggested modified model predictive control strategy operates the inverter in two states per switching interval: an active state and a zero state. A modified voltage model-based prediction equations derived to determine the optimum active state and its duty ratio according to the cost function. The stability analysis of the DC microgrid is based on a buck converter. The proportional-integral (PI) controller is used to generate a control signal to operate the switch of the buck converter. Arduino is used to implement the PI controller. In addition, a Genetic Algorithm (GA) is used as an optimization technique in simulation work to find the optimum value of the PI controller gains. The simulation and practical results show that the stable operation of the voltage of the DC microgrid is achieved.","PeriodicalId":266552,"journal":{"name":"2021 12th International Renewable Energy Congress (IREC)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122818267","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As such, these concepts are the main focus of the governmental funded German \"North Seas Offshore Network II\" (NSON II) project, considering the offshore WP development in the German North Sea. This paper presents the accordingly adapted offshore HVDC control concept for AC-side parallel HVDC link operation and in detail compares the behavioral differences in case of direct offshore converter terminal coupling and coupling across own transformers. Negative impacts are obtained regarding unequal power distribution and the mapping of individual converter power limitations, thus control concept enhancements are suggested, assessed and successfully tested, aiming at control concept usage in more complex AC-side meshed offshore grids studied further on within NSON II.","PeriodicalId":266552,"journal":{"name":"2021 12th International Renewable Energy Congress (IREC)","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128285807","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
