The approach presents a simple algorithm to identify the battery charge/discharge logic to increase self-consumption, thereby providing cost savings to the end user. The MATLAB platform has been used to analyze the input data using the CREST Demand Model using different load profile and energy management systems. The model enhances the level of understanding to power consumption in presence of Photovoltaic panels and provide a cost-effective tool using various household profiles based on time and occupant usage.","PeriodicalId":266552,"journal":{"name":"2021 12th International Renewable Energy Congress (IREC)","volume":"265 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120876295","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It can be converted to useful heat using solar thermal collector. Nowadays, solar parabolic trough collector (PTC) is considered as an excellent alternative among solar concentrators. In the current study, a transient numerical analysis is carried out to investigate the performance of Solar-PTC integrated with storage tank using various nanofluids as heat transfer fluids in southern Tunisia climate. The effects of weather data, storage tank volume and adding nanoparticles as alumina (Al2O3) and copper (Cu) into pure thermal oil (Therminol-VP1) are taken into account on the modeling of the system. The numerical results were validated with experimental data reported in the literature and a good agreement was obtained proving that the mathematical model used in the present study is feasible and reliable. We found that the emerging of Cu particles in the Therminol-VP1 showed a higher peak temperature value even at low mass fraction when compared to the %Al2O3-VP1.","PeriodicalId":266552,"journal":{"name":"2021 12th International Renewable Energy Congress (IREC)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125460036","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to study the system sizing, an iterative approach is used. It is based on a recursive algorithm and a robust energy management. Indeed, the Deficiency of Power Supply Probability (DPSP), the Relative Excess Power Generated (REPG), the Energy Cost (EC) and the Total Net Present Cost (TNPC) are used to ensure an improved reliability and a minimum cost. As data information, this approach used the wind speed. The obtained results, checked carrying out Matlab simulations, confirm the effectiveness of this approach in sizing problem.","PeriodicalId":266552,"journal":{"name":"2021 12th International Renewable Energy Congress (IREC)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126557821","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The impacts of a new combination of factors that may affect the yield were explored and optimized utilizing a central composite design and response surface methodology. The results revealed that the molar ratio and catalyst quantity had the greatest impact on biodiesel yield. In addition, to anticipate the yield, a quadratic model that linked the factors was built. Optimal biodiesel production may be achieved under the following conditions, according to this optimization: temperature of 60°C, a 1.6 % wt catalyst mass, a 7.8:1 methanol: WCO molar ratio and mixing speed of 400 rpm.","PeriodicalId":266552,"journal":{"name":"2021 12th International Renewable Energy Congress (IREC)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126862999","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
