The amplitude and the probability of the process are calculated taking account of the photon dispersion and large radiative corrections near the resonance. It is shown that the combined effect of plasma and strong magnetic field decreases the probability of the process in comparison to the result in pure magnetic field.","PeriodicalId":264948,"journal":{"name":"Surveys in High Energy Physics","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1999-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121181537","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This picture of nucleons allows a consistent nonperturbative calculation of the leading-twist parton distributions at a low normalization point. We derive general formulae for the polarized and unpolarized distributions in the chiral quark-soliton model. The consistency of the approach is demonstrated by checking the baryon number, isospin and total momentum sum rules, as well as the Bjorken sum rule. We present results for the quark and antiquark distributions and find reasonable agreement with parametriza-tions of the data at a low normalization point. In particular, we obtain a sizeable fraction of antiquaries, in agreement with the phenomenological analysis.","PeriodicalId":264948,"journal":{"name":"Surveys in High Energy Physics","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1999-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122023476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The multi-loop superstring amplitude is presented by the integrals over super-Schottky parameters that include the Grassmann integrations in addition to the ordinary ones. The integrals are ill defined due to the partition function becomes infinite when the supermanifold is degenerated in a few lower genus supermanifolds. For the calculation of the integrals the regularization procedure is proposed preserving the super-modular group and SL(2)-symmetry as well. In this case the divergences due to a dividing of the genus-n > 1 supermanifold in a few the lower genus supermanifolds are found to disappear since the Grassmann integrations are performed. It is similar to QED, as example, where the photon mass disappears, if a gauge invariant regularization scheme is used. Proton decay with the modes and rates predicted by the original SU(5) grand unification model was not observed experimentally. The possibility of alternative baryon nonconservation scenario corresponding to the left-right symmetric unification schemes and evolving at the intermediate energy scale of ∼105 GeV is considered. One of the most spectacular manifestations of the physics of such energy scale would be an observation of neutron to antineutron transitions. An extensive study of supernovae (both observational and theoretical) during the last decade, prompted by the outburst of close Supernova 1987A in the Large Magellanic Cloud, led to general consensus that Type Ia supernovae are the result of thermonuclear explosion of carbon-oxygen white dwarfs whereas other types supernovae (especially Type II) are triggered by the gravitational collapse of stellar iron cores. However, there is still much left to do to understand the details of the two supernova mechanisms. The main difficulties are due to the lack of a comprehensive theory of thermonuclear flame in degenerate stellar matter for Type Ia supernovae and a very complicated (essentially three-dimensional) picture of the energy transfer from a dense collapsed remnant (neutron star) to the expelled stellar envelope in the case of other type supernovae—the interaction of neutrino flux with large-...","PeriodicalId":264948,"journal":{"name":"Surveys in High Energy Physics","volume":"230 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1998-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125984460","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
