This survey research was conducted to investigate the students’ perceptions on the use of YouTube to learn English post-pandemic. The participants were 88 second-grade students in one of the public junior high schools in Batu. The data were taken by administering the questionnaire directly to the students. The findings revealed that YouTube was effective, attractive, and motivating to help the students learn English post-pandemic in the classroom. Thus, it is recommended that English teachers teach English by means of YouTube in their class. Moreover, it is also suggested that future researchers investigate whether the students’ perceptions on the use of YouTube will differ across their learning styles","PeriodicalId":262006,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL PENDIDIKAN GLASSER","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128458069","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The thesis is derived from writing is an essential skill that students need to develop to succeed academically and professionally. To fulfill this, the Rasch model offers important test statistics that play a crucial role in constructing tests related to evaluation and item selection problems, as well as in decision-making regarding the generated test scores. Building upon this narrative, this research is conducted with the aim of identifying person fit in assessing academic writing performance using the Rasch model. The sample in the form of essays was obtained from a group of 40 students who had previously undergone a six-month academic writing program. The data was then analyzed using Ministep 4.8.2.0 built for Rasch Model analysis. The analysis results indicated that there were 31 students in the person misfit category, suggesting a need to reconsider the appropriateness of the conducted treatment and whether there were other factors contributing to it. Additionally, a discrepancy was found in 5 students with persons misfit or overfit, and their better performance was observed on more difficult items, contrary to the Rasch model's profile","PeriodicalId":262006,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL PENDIDIKAN GLASSER","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126669200","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The focus of this research is extracurricular students at SMA Negeri 1 Palopo. The problem is the lack of variation in pair training. The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not there is an impact of variations in pair training on the sepak sila skills of the takraw extracurricular students at SMA Negeri 1 Palopo. The term \"quantitative research using experimental methods\" refers to a method for determining, under controlled conditions, how one treatment affects another treatment. In SMA Negeri 1 Palopo there are 25 male students who take part in takraw extracurricular activities. Purposive sampling was used as a sampling method, meaning that each student will be included in the research sample based on the special considerations of the researcher. So that researchers want that in the implementation of learning there is an intensity of activity because students are able to practice these skills through learning activities with the pair method. The research was carried out in two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were students of class X TKJ 1, totaling 36 students. There are 24 male students and 12 female students. Data collection techniques are by tests, observations, documentation, and field notes. Data analysis used quantitative descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The results showed that through the pair method can improve the ability of the basic technique of passing down in volleyball games in class X TKJ 1 SMKN 5 Bone. The results of the data obtained from the results of the first cycle of students who completed 41.67% with a frequency of 15 students, then increased in cycle II and students who completed 94.44% with a frequency of 34 students. This is motivated by the low achievement of women’s volleyball in the Banggai regency which is due to a lack of ability to maintain the quality of the game due to low leg muscle endurance. The population is all Velocita women's volleyball athletes in Banggai district, totaling 12 people, while the sample uses the total sampling method so that the total is 12 athletes. The research data were obtained by giving a leg muscle endurance test in the form of squat jump test through the pretest and posttest after the athlete was given the training treatment. Data analysis techniques using t-test analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, it is discovered that (1) there is an influence of circuit training on leg muscle endurance of Velocita volleyball women athletes in Banggai regency with a tcount of 12,593 > 2,571 ttable and a p value of Sig. 0.000 is smaller than 0.05, (2) there is an influence of interval training on leg muscle endurance of Velocita volleyball women athletes in Banggai regency with a tcount of 7,906 > 2,571 ttable and a p value of Sig. 0.001 is smaller than 0.05, and (3) there is no difference in the influence of circuit training and interval training on leg muscle endurance of Velocita volleyball women athletes in Banggai regency where the results of the t test show tcount 1.958 smaller than ttable value 2.228 with a significance value of 0.079 greater than the value of α 0.05. Teaching young learners needs creativity to keep the students active and enthusiastic about learning. Especially the condition required to conduct online learning. Teachers should keep the students motivated and understand the material easily. This study also elaborated on the challenges that the teacher faced during online learning. A qualitative method was used in this study. The data collection techniques are observation and interview. The data was gained from an elementary school in Surabaya. The observation was held in the first grade for twelve meetings. The result showed that the teacher used two learning models during online learning. It was synchronous and asynchronous learning. In synchronous learning, the teacher used Listen and Repeat, Listen and Do, Short Conversation, Question and Answer, Quiz and Sing and Move. Meanwhile, in Asynchronous learning, the teacher used three strategies. They were Role play, Daily Tests, and Video Blogs (Vlogs). Moreover, the teacher also admitted that she faced challenges during teaching through online learning. The challenges came from the teacher herself, the students, and the parents.","PeriodicalId":262006,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL PENDIDIKAN GLASSER","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121715949","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
