In this research, SG smoothing was applied as a pre-processing method to analyze Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectra of chilli plants infected by Pepper Yellow Leaf Curl Virus (PYLCV) and PYLCV-undetected plants. SG smoothing has two parameters that can be optimized to achieve the best result, namely the polynomial order and the window length. For the former, orders of zero, two, four, six and eight whilst the latter used lengths from the polynomial order + 1 to 59. Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) was used to optimize the parameters. The results showed that the best LDA classification result was achieved using the zeroth and second order polynomials. For the zeroth order, a 100% classification result was achieved by window lengths in the range nine to twenty-five, while the second order polynomial window lengths to achieve the same results were from twenty-nine to forty-one. From the two polynomial orders, the mean squared error (MSE) of the SG smoothed, and the original signal was calculated. From that process, the zeroth order SG smoothing curve with a window length of nine produced the best parameter combination to classify the samples.","PeriodicalId":261718,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 7th Forum on Research and Technologies for Society and Industry Innovation (RTSI)","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116042900","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The metasurface consists of an array of three planar metal patches with two neighboring Plasmonic resonant frequencies. The structure is designed, simulated, and the fabricated prototype is experimentally characterized. It converts indifferently, a linearly polarized (CoPol) plane wave into an orthogonal cross-polarization (X-Pol). A high Polarization Conversion Ratio, PCR above 80% is achieved over a bandwidth (2.8 GHz) from 7.5 GHz to 10.3 GHz and a relative insensitivity to the incidence angle $(0^{circ} -pm 45^{circ})$. The experimental results are in good agreement with the numerical simulations.","PeriodicalId":261718,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 7th Forum on Research and Technologies for Society and Industry Innovation (RTSI)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115327916","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The current is corrected through backgate body bias voltage control, which has the benefit of reduced additional parasitic elements, compared to more classic amplitude calibration or sort-and-map solutions. The main application are high speed and high resolution current steering Digital to Analog Converters (DAC). The calibration circuit is applied on a 2 time-interleaved (TI) DAC, with 12 bits of resolution and sampled at a frequency of 16 GHz. Its main requirement is to be able to generate signals up to the Nyquist Band (8 GHz) with Spurious Free Dynamic Range (SFDR) of at least 70 dBFS. We validate the method with a schematic 28 nm FDSOI CMOS transistor level testbench, Montecarlo simulations and temperature variations from 27 °C to 125 °C.","PeriodicalId":261718,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 7th Forum on Research and Technologies for Society and Industry Innovation (RTSI)","volume":"412 22","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120890140","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other hand, image encryption techniques are vulnerable to the differential, statistical, and known/chosen plaintext attacks. This paper creates a novel approach for encrypting medical images using the novel cosine transformed Chebyshev chaotic map. The proposed novel chaotic map is analyzed using parameters like bifurcation diagram and Lyapunov Exponent. In the proposed approach, first, both seed and control parameter are initialized using the secret key and initial vector. After that, the intermediate key for each color image component is generated using the propoed chaotic map and the shared key. Finally, the cipher image is created using the combination of the intermediate key and the chaotic map. This scheme has been analyzed using various security parameters like brute force attack, known/chosen plaintext attack, Number of Pixel Change Rate (NPCR), Unified Averaged Changed Intensity (UACI), Corrleation Coefficient (CC), and Entropy.","PeriodicalId":261718,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 7th Forum on Research and Technologies for Society and Industry Innovation (RTSI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129872648","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Individual robots make decisions based on interactions and information gathered from the environment. This enables the bot to mimic the natural swarm behaviour seen in birds, ants, and other natural insects. This research proposes using Computer Vision to intervene if a bot fails to exploit adaptive environmental variables to adjust a decentralized swarm’s autonomous behaviour. The decision of selecting a computational resource for processing of real-time detection and tracking of bio-inspired Kilobot is challenging. A comparison between local and cloud-based computational resources has been presented utilising varying environmental conditions which can help determine the most efficient and affordable platform for swarm processing. Local computational resources provide overall efficient results but Cloud computational resources provide faster execution results.","PeriodicalId":261718,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 7th Forum on Research and Technologies for Society and Industry Innovation (RTSI)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131089988","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We experimented using some datasets from the PTB-XL ECG database, which were created in accordance with the age distribution of the Canadian population. We specifically focused on the QRS portion of the ECG wave as an indicator of age. Our scheme contained band-pass filtering; discrete wavelet decomposition reconstruction; a deep neural network having 1D CNN, LSTM, and regression layers. Initially, age prediction was attempted using this method. However, predicted ages were found to center around a certain region at the start of adulthood. This result prompted us to explore age classification. For age classification (adults and non-adults), our method achieved classification accuracies up to 99%. Such promising outcomes generated the feasibilities of further experimentation and possible practical implementation of ECG for anonymous age verification.","PeriodicalId":261718,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 7th Forum on Research and Technologies for Society and Industry Innovation (RTSI)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116324359","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Early detection is critical to slow its development, but the diagnosis process is lengthy and costly. Computer-Aided Dementia Detection through Natural Language Processing is emerging as a viable solution for an early diagnosis. Many works in the literature use transcripts of the conversations from the famous DementiaBank dataset to train and test Machine Learning models to detect Dementia automatically. However, the reproducibility and comparability of previous results have been a significant problem in this research domain. We propose a set of curated features, a modular and extensible Feature Extraction framework, and a Performance Evaluation framework to solve these problems. We then evaluated the baseline performance of 12 Machine Learning algorithms over three different tasks: Regression, Binary Classification, and Multiclass Classification with 3, 4, and 5 classes. The top performer model was the Gradient Boosted Decision Trees, achieving an RMSE of 4.3 for the Regression task, an Accuracy of 0.78 for the Binary classification task, and an Accuracy of respectively 0.63, 0.64, and 0.49 for the 3, 4, and 5 classes Multiclass Classification tasks.","PeriodicalId":261718,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 7th Forum on Research and Technologies for Society and Industry Innovation (RTSI)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128634508","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Software tools and digital workflows generate a large number of events that are recorded in so-called event logs. Process mining uses these events and, among other things, allows conclusions to be drawn about the sequences of events during the development process. In this way, the process and the associated process model can be cross-checked and optimized. Especially in regulated areas such as medical devices, great importance is given to the traceability of the inputs made. In addition, there are further criteria to adapt process models individually, which can be of great benefit in the heterogeneous world of medical devices. This regulatory requirement cooperates well in context of process mining and the recording of event logs. In this paper, a concept for the application of process mining to optimize a customized process model for the development of smart medical devices is presented and evaluated by a case study. Furthermore, aspects could be uncovered that will be used to optimize and extend the concept in future research.","PeriodicalId":261718,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 7th Forum on Research and Technologies for Society and Industry Innovation (RTSI)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124463459","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
