At the tertiary stage of education, it has been observed that in both Chile and Spain students in many cases have not developed the basic skills involved in information competence equally, and they run into problems when they have to write the research papers demanded in many of their subjects, including final degree projects and/or undergraduate dissertations. The University of Salamanca (USAL) is carrying out a project of teaching innovation to create four Learning Objects (LOs) under the Creative Commons licence, designed to accommodate different learning styles and to help students learn more about sources of information, the Google search engine, meta-search engines, and academic plagiarism. According to the outcomes of the pilot study, the LOs increased student interest and motivation for further developing these competences. Having detected these same needs at the University of Santiago de Chile (USACH), a joint project is being carried out to adapt and reuse the LOs in the Chilean context, with a view to carryng out comparative studies, the design of which is presented herein.","PeriodicalId":260604,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Symposium on Computers in Education (SIIE)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129930895","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Technological innovations have been constant, often accompanied by educational innovations, but the pace of adoption of the same is not as intense as its development. Furthermore, not only changing technologies and methods, students and learning objectives also change, which in many cases cause many conflicts and difficulties. This paper proposes as a research proposal to analyze and promote technological innovation of teachers based on the adoption of the open education model focused on Open Educational Resources. A study of the elements that make up this ecosystem is made and a methodology and a research driven by models of technological innovation is proposed, refered to important concepts of the ecosystem of Open Educational Resources, innovation and technology adoption models.","PeriodicalId":260604,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Symposium on Computers in Education (SIIE)","volume":"478 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133711583","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This entails a growing interest on the part of teachers and researchers to include e-assessment as a priority research line. Our study aims to test the level of expectations and experiences of the students from the 3rd year of de Pedagogy degree in the academic year 2014/205 before implementing a learning training process to improve their assessment skills. Through a survey technique, we analyze the information collected from 60 students in the form of self-perceived answers. The results show medium-high levels of learning-oriented e-assessment use, as well as medium-low levels of previous experience. On the other hand, the analysis shows a favorable disposition to participate in training processes focused on e-assessment.","PeriodicalId":260604,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Symposium on Computers in Education (SIIE)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133815276","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, we focus on some particular parameters at the recommendation phase (different similarity algorithms), evaluating the new recommendations not only via offline analysis but also taking into account users feedback. It has been performed a online analysis over a small group of users. The recommendations were presented to these users along with a small inquiry form about each recommendation. Through this study we tried to find out which algorithm performs better from the online analysis and if it is possible to notice a similarity between the results obtained from the offline and online analysis.","PeriodicalId":260604,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Symposium on Computers in Education (SIIE)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121091630","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
