Disclosure of non-financial information significantly compliments the image of each company and contributes very effectively to the decision making of their customers, not only from the supply chain. Interest in non-financial information as parts of CSR from the perspective of the ethical and sustainable supply chain management is increasing. In the social, environmental, and economic spheres, it is important to determine the specificities of food industry reporting in order to achieve sustainable development. The aim of this chapter is a theoretical analysis of the reporting of non-financial information according to their disclosure requirements in the food industry by enterprises in Slovakia and a quantitative analysis of their reporting in the structure of SK NACE for 2017 in the context of the ethics and sustainability. Slovakia has more requirements for company reporting in the annual report since 2017.","PeriodicalId":258932,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Logistics, Operations, and Management Science","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128054556","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of those contributions are based on quantitative models but, generally, are not used by practitioners who are not confident with. This can be explained by the fact that scenarios and datasets used to design and validate those HL models are often too simple compared to the real situations. In this chapter, a scenario-based approach based on a five-step methodology has been developed to bridge this gap by designing a set of valid scenarios able to assess disaster needs in regions subject to recurrent disasters. The contribution, usable by both scholars and practitioners, demonstrates that defining such valid scenario sets is possible for recurrent disasters. Finally, the proposal is validated on a concrete application case based on Peruvian recurrent flood and earthquake disasters.","PeriodicalId":258932,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Logistics, Operations, and Management Science","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128194400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Vehicle selection in freight transportation is a crucial and strategic decision as it requires high investments, and if the desired performance cannot be achieved from these vehicles, which were bought at a high expense, they would inevitably be idle. Vehicle selection problem in logistics is essentially a multi-criteria decision problem as it consists of several criteria, some conflicting with each other. The aim of this research is to find out which criteria freight companies value the most when assessing and selecting the vehicles they use on the road by using fuzzy BWM and fuzzy SWARA methods. Since the number of studies using fuzzy BWM and fuzzy SWARA is low in the literature and there are few studies in the literature related to transportation vehicle selection in the logistics, this study will contribute to the literature.","PeriodicalId":258932,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Logistics, Operations, and Management Science","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132474849","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It consists of viewpoints rather than empirical findings which are considered crucial in understanding comprehensively the whole concept of both leadership views. This would neglect some negative or misperceptions especially for the Islamic leadership approach. By discussing each of the elements and its content on both leadership views, further studies and researches could be conducted in order to examine or test those elements empirically. This could be beneficial for the practitioners or public figures who are the leaders in their workplaces for adopting or adapting some key principles from both leadership views. Some experiences of leaders in Muslim or non-Muslim countries will be included in this chapter, so that more arguments and examples could be implemented. In Islamic leadership, the Islamic teachings based on Al-Qur'an and Hadith are fundamental principles and the main sources for every discussion.","PeriodicalId":258932,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Logistics, Operations, and Management Science","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130078078","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This perspective requires strategically selecting the team members while understanding the principles of an effective team and using a participatory approach, culture, and synergy to guide the team to achieve exponential results. Therefore, entrepreneurs try to seize opportunities and achieve sustainable success by creating a culture that feeds on differences in realizing the business idea. From this point of view, synergistic entrepreneurship, which is one of the types of entrepreneurship that is open to new perspectives and learns from differences, is mentioned. Also, the contribution of a continuous development approach to achieve high performance with innovative solutions is discussed in this chapter of the book.","PeriodicalId":258932,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Logistics, Operations, and Management Science","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134109423","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
