To cope and thrive within a new NDIS-fueled marketplace, disability NPOs need to pursue socially innovative agendas. Through a review of cross-disciplinary literatures on social innovation and the use of a complexity theorizing approach that integrates multiple theories (i.e. institutional theory, resource dependence theory, and user innovation theory), this chapter proposes a holistic complexity-based framework that can potentially: explain how disability NPOs develop social innovations operating at the edge of chaos, help improve the ability of research to tackle societal and managerial problems, and hence strengthen management scholarship.","PeriodicalId":258932,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Logistics, Operations, and Management Science","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116950387","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using the Hofstede organizational culture model, the chapter has centered emphasis on factors that affect primarily financial results. In this study, the authors look at the importance of organizational culture traits as a predictor of financial performance in Colombian and Ecuadorian companies. They discovered that despite Colombia and Ecuador having similar histories and cultures that can be similar to a high level, in volatile and rapidly evolving settings, strategic approaches that concentrate on both distinction and low costs at the same time are often in conflict with Porter's classic approach.","PeriodicalId":258932,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Logistics, Operations, and Management Science","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127182493","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this way, the intervention of the state has been necessary so that the sector can have sufficient income both to satisfy its basic survival needs and to guarantee the continuity of production. In this chapter, the impact of the own investment and economic support policies formulated by the Colombian government on the financial flow of the coffee farmers was evaluated through a systems dynamics model. To achieve this objective, the current conditions of the Colombian coffee sector were studied, the supply chain was modeled with systems dynamics, and scenarios were simulated alluding to the policies evaluated.","PeriodicalId":258932,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Logistics, Operations, and Management Science","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125514177","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to explore leadership competencies based on the nature of human being. In doing so, this article discusses the relationship of Qalb (Heart) and leadership as well as the importance of Qalb (Heart) for institutional leadership competencies. This includes examining the nature and functions of Qalb (Heart) which could contribute to the practice of effective leadership in organization. The implication of Qalb (Heart) as the centre for leadership competencies in organization is also presented in this chapter. This is done by breaking down examples of prominent leaders' leadership behaviours in different situations. This article concludes that organizational leadership competencies should never be separated from the the basic source of human being or Qalb (Heart). The main objective is to reduce the exposure to the consequences of disasters by reducing the time of information flow through SMS interaction technology. Quebrada Quirio was used as a prototype. The process consists of using the INDECI rapid assessment visit to collect basic data, including a telephone number, of the people affected by the disaster, and based on this information, multiple initiatives aligned with the optimization of the flow of information were created.","PeriodicalId":258932,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Logistics, Operations, and Management Science","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126665321","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
