Urban open spaces can facilitate participation in physical activity and the health of citizens. The aim of this study is to identify the indicators, attributes, and dimensions of health promotion of citizens. Methods: This study was conducted in the first half of 2017 using the Cochran systematic review protocol. In order to search for studies related to public open areas and mobility and health of citizens, a search strategy was used in scientific directories and Web of Science databases to search for Latin articles and to use the SID for Persian studies. Through applying Meta synthesis, the extracted indices were classified in terms of the attributes and dimensions of the environment protecting the citizens’ health. Results: The result of this research showed that 65 papers were eligible for analysis. After Meta synthesis studies, 62 indicators, 11 attributes and 4 main dimensions related to health protection and health promotion areas were identified. They include: physical, semantic, functional, and social individual. Conclusion: Urban open spaces can be a safe environment for citizens’ health promotion activities. There should be aesthetics and green urban environments so that the citizens could safely and tranquilly carry out health promotion activities. These environments should be functionally and accessibly attractive and they should be a channel for citizens’ socialization.","PeriodicalId":256979,"journal":{"name":"nian Journal of Health Education and Health Promotion","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120965207","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In fact, performing caesarean section without medical reason has many harmful consequences for mother and her baby. The current study was aimed to determine the effect of planned behavior-based educational intervention on the selection of childbirth method among primipara women who visit health centers of Tehran during 2016-2017. Methods: This was a semi empirical study, with pre-test, post-test design and control group. 120 primiparas who visited health centers were randomly categorized into intervention and control groups. Data was collected by researcher-made questionnaire based on the construct of the theory of planned behavior, and after confirming its validity and reliability, was distributed between the statistical samples. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS16. Results: The descriptive findings showed that intervention and control groups were demographically homogenous. The inferential findings showed that between the average of both groups in all construct, except for the behavioral ones, there was no meaningful difference before the educational intervention (P>0.001) while after that, the difference of average were meaningful (P<0.001). Conclusion: The results indicated that the program has a positive effect on improving the selection of childbirth method among primiparas as they are more tended to natural childbirth than caesarean section. Therefore, the construct of the theory of planned behavior can be used to encourage such women to choose natural childbirth instead of caesarean section.","PeriodicalId":256979,"journal":{"name":"nian Journal of Health Education and Health Promotion","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114620434","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to pay attention to the importance of health issues in the student’s health process, it is necessary to develop the content of textbooks and an educational program that can accommodate all the essential health education needs. Methods: This study is of content analysis type using “Shannon Entropy Method”, which specifies qualitative and quantitative data processing in content analysis. From the viewpoint of respondents, the content (the content of all the textbooks of first three years of elementary schools) was reviewed using 12 main components and 58 sub-components of health and health promotion; its validity was confirmed by curriculum planning and health education experts and its reliability (0/72) was obtained through Scott’s method. Results: Results of content analysis of Shannon Entropy of reviewing the textbooks of first elementary school grades, indicated components of mental health with 284 items (WJ=0/1832), and familiarity with foodstuffs with 271 items (WJ=0/1981) assigned the most frequency and importance, and the disability indicator components (the importance of disability, helping disabled people, different types of disability, etc.) with 0 items (WJ=0) were the least important indicators and components. Conclusion: Findings of component frequency indicated the health system components do not have normal distribution, in other words health education and health promotion have been addressed in very low level in curriculum, while health is the most important factor in development and guarantees the survival of community.","PeriodicalId":256979,"journal":{"name":"nian Journal of Health Education and Health Promotion","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133429655","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
