A significance coefficient is determined for each feature parameter. The number of features is reduced according to the weight of the importance calculated for each feature. The classification success is examined for each case. Firstly, six feature extraction algorithms are used for this purpose. The classification success of all these feature extraction algorithms has been examined separately. Then, all properties are combined to form a single property matrix. The obtained property matrix is reduced by using principal component analysis and relieff methods. New feature matrices provide increased classification performance. However, it is inefficient to classify a high number of properties in real-time applications. To overcome this problem, the effect of classifying each parameter in the property matrix is examined and the insignificant properties are discarded. The proposed method is tested using histopathological images. Histopathological images are divided into 4 separate classes. The proposed method reduces the raw feature matrix by 50% with 97.2% classification success.","PeriodicalId":253583,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Symposium on Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering (ISFEE)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127447468","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Pregnant women who suffer from preeclampsia and the persons who have cardiac diseases can have their heart rate monitored through the use of a smart bracelet. The created bracelet sends the measured values towards the user's associated smart phone and then to the system's server. The server interprets the health parameters and alerts the associated relatives, caregivers and the doctor in case of an emergency by sending an SMS. On the system's forum the bracelet's user can write about the current health symptoms and the medical experience. Sentiment analysis is applied to determine if a critical situation has been described. In this case, an SMS alert is delivered to the user's doctor. This close connection between the patient and doctor upgrades the quality of life.","PeriodicalId":253583,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Symposium on Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering (ISFEE)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127976219","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among these RGCs, there are over 30 different types and each type carries specialized information about the visual world. The question of whether and how RGCs also show different types of responses to electrical stimulation has been much debated for a long time. This work aims to classify RGC responses to pulsed electrical stimulation based on the peri-stimulus time histogram (PSTH). Both hard and soft partitioning methods were used to perform unsupervised clustering. The results of the clustering algorithms were evaluated using cluster validity indices with no prior information. The result was that the k-means as a hard partitioning method provided about 17 clusters, while the fuzzy Gustafson Kessel algorithm gave about 25 clusters. After manual inspection, it was concluded that the clusters are both diverse and specific enough to likely correlate to known RGC types. Therefore, performing clustering based on the electrical pulse-elicited PSTH could be a powerful tool and can contribute in differentiating RGCs and stimulating them selectively.","PeriodicalId":253583,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Symposium on Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering (ISFEE)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130160824","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The control system is constructed in rotor reference frame and forms a cascade structure. In the inner loop are controlled the direct and the quadrature currents and in the outer loop is controlled the angular speed of the shaft. The non-linear behaviour is compensated through feedforward controllers while an Extened Kalman Filter (EKF) is used to compensate unknown disturbances caused, for example, by deviations of parameters or by unconsidered dynamics. Thus, these compensations lead to a linear behaviour of the process over which the SAC strategy is overlapped. The performance of the adaptive control system is verified by numerical simulations.","PeriodicalId":253583,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Symposium on Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering (ISFEE)","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122693151","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In spite that the non-oriented electrical steel has a small magnetocrystalline anisotropy, the influence of the easy and hard magnetization axes on the magnetic permeability and energy losses is important. In this study we present a mathematical model, used for the damaged zone width estimation that results from the mechanical punching procedure. Through this technological cutting method NO20 non-oriented electrical steel strips of 300 mm × 30 mm were prepared, being cut parallel (RD) and normal (TD) to the rolling direction. The Epstein standard sample 30 mm in width was reconstructed, by putting together strips having their width in an interval between 5 mm and 30 mm. These samples were assessed utilizing a laboratory Single Strip Tester (SST) for frequency ranging from 3 Hz to 400 Hz, at Jp = 1 T (peak magnetic polarization value). Using the statistical theory of losses (STL) total energy losses were decomposed into hysteresis, classical and excess losses, and their variation was investigated as a dependence of the strip width.","PeriodicalId":253583,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Symposium on Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering (ISFEE)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131934586","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
