The influence of the involved measured data on the Steinmetz coefficients is presented, detailing the impact of the fitted parameters on the estimated magnetic losses. The experimental setup uses a laminated ring with primary and secondary coils, connected to a commercial permeameter, the measurements including hysteresis cycles for various amplitudes (up to 1.3 T) and frequencies (up to 300 Hz). Two analytical losses formulas are used: the classical Steinmetz model and the generalized formula involving losses separation. The study shows the major impact of the coefficients variance on the losses estimation accuracy, especially for higher frequencies.","PeriodicalId":253583,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Symposium on Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering (ISFEE)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124985713","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From its impact point of view on income, by reducing the amount of billable electricity through the application of distribution tariffs is a risk that the main distribution operators have to take into account. The existence of a history of unfavourable regulatory conditions for operators as well as an insufficient degree of transparency in the setting of distribution tariffs leads to a particularly serious risk for distribution operators. The emergence of decentralized production units greatly alters the costs of distribution activity, costs that are only highlighted for distributed (consumed) electricity. In a certain context ARCELOR MITTAL Galati convinced the decision makers that they can give up to the existing power distribution network by making parallel connections and keeping in reserve some of the installations that will connect with the National Power System without transit of energy just from safety reasons. If the distribution service billing is made only at the level of the electricity consumption, as the network costs are both fixed and variable, the distribution operators are disadvantaged. In addition, the methodologies for calculating distribution tariffs must also reflect the support that should be given to the research activities related to this field. Starting from the presented case study, different analysis assumptions can be made at the level of each distribution operator, as well as at each voltage level.","PeriodicalId":253583,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Symposium on Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering (ISFEE)","volume":"113 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115566726","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the renewable energies is the solar one. Solar energy can be used to generate electricity using photovoltaic cells, respectively with Stirling engine and Fresnel lenses. Using Fresnel lenses, the solar radiation is concentrated on the engines warm area, increasing the temperature of that area. In this paper we analyze an experimental model of the thermoelectric power plant where the solar radiation is replaced by the energy obtained by burning butane. A butane lamp is used for this. It is analyzed how different parameters influence the functioning of the thermoelectric power plant. The Stirling engine used is of gamma type and the electric generator is DC. It is studied how the value of the load resistance and generator speed influences the power plants efficiency. It is also studied how the temperature value of the hot zone or cold area influences the efficiency of the Stirling engine and how the efficiency of the experimental model of the thermoelectric power plant is influenced by the value of the generator load resistance, the temperature of the hot zone and the cold area of the Stirling engine, and the speed of the electric generator.","PeriodicalId":253583,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Symposium on Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering (ISFEE)","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116436252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the advantages brought in by technology can also be applied to books in order to increase their attractiveness. Virtual and augmented reality, internet of things or movement detection are just a few examples of technologies which can be integrated into classical books and bring with them a great series of advantages: increase interest of young people, raise attractiveness and entertainment. Social collaboration is also an aspect which can help people share their interests, encouraging others to read, write, collaborate, share, thus getting closer to creating a better future of reading. This principle uses the concept that a video sequence can be seen as a parallelepiped representing the entire video sequence, divided into smaller, independently encoded parallelepipeds, the most commonly format being a \"video cube\" of 8×8×8 size. When passing this cube through the 3D-DCT algorithm that applies to it, the corresponding quantization tables must be known by both the encoder and the decoder to be able to decompress the video information. This paper presents an original method of implementing a modified 3D-DCT compression algorithm, which is a variant derived from it and which brings certain improvements to the standard algorithm. The main improvement is to replace fixed-sized \"video cubes\" by creating variable-length parallelepipeds over time, giving up the fixed value of 8 for the \"video cube\" dimension, which means considerable reductions in the volume of this parallelepiped when its sides are smaller than 8. n-bit operations can be performed more efficiently and resource-saving when n < 8 and implicitly the value of 2n – 1 no longer complies with the divisibility by 8. Other improvements are related to how the information bits are saved when storing them in the compressed video file. Reading from this file and writing in this file run in large blocks, to avoid accessing the file too often with short readings or writings. The design and implementation details, as well as the analysis of the compression performance obtained (including the consumption of time divided by type of function used) are thoroughly presented in the paper.","PeriodicalId":253583,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Symposium on Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering (ISFEE)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116384621","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
