The DFAGC consists of an exponential gain controlled amplifier and a logarithmic amplifier, which gets the constant gain settling time independent of the input signal amplitude. This scheme allows using the linear system theory directly analyze the DAGC performance. So the mathematical model and the backward difference equation are given to investigate the settling time, and the transfer function given to obtain the transient response and the DFAGC tracking performance. Finally, it is verified by simulations that the analysis results closely coincide with the settling time and the DFAGC characteristic in high SNR, and the linear system theory analysis method concisely gives the insight of the proposed scheme.","PeriodicalId":253478,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology","volume":"267 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122110638","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Spectrum sensing is a critical step for Cognitive Radio (CR) to have a successful communication. Intensive interests have been paid to the improvement of spectrum sensing. However, the relationship of previous and current detected data sets of Primary User (PU) has not been considered by most of the spectrum sensing methods. We propose cross entropy based spectrum sensing to scrutinize this relationship. As cross entropy based spectrum sensing has taken extra information into account, its ability to detect PU signal is strengthened and robust, which leads to a superior spectrum sensing performance. The simulation results have validated this point.","PeriodicalId":253478,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114957111","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The combination of a broadband LNA and a transmission gate realize a new two gain mode topology. In the high gain mode, an inductor-less broadband LNA employing noise-cancelling technique was used, which can easily meet the requirements of low noise, high gain, and input impedance. In the low gain mode, the LNA is bypassed and powered down, and the input signal directly reaches the output through the transmission gate. In this way, a better linearity can be achieved. Designed with the SMIC 0.18-µm CMOS process, the simulation results exhibits a maximum gain of 15 dB, a minimum gain of −1.6dB. Also, the LNA has excellent noise performance at high gain mode; A noise figure of 2.1dB is achieved in this work. Especially, at low gain mode the input 1-dB compression point is 9.5 dBm.","PeriodicalId":253478,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122893109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a joint physical network coding and channel coding implementation design for multiple-access channel is proposed. It takes advantage of the linearity of LDPC and network coding and SISO module, not only can reduce the complexity of codec, but also can obtain a good performance even in the high SNR. ECAN technology is a broadband access technology based on the existing coaxial network. ECAN employs IEEE802.3ah in the media access control (MAC) layer and transmits the frequency-multiplexed TV signals and multi-level vestige side band (VSB) modulated data signal, which occupies the low-frequency band over the coaxial network. The test trial consists of one coaxial line terminal (CLT), and 24 coaxial network units (CNUs). The test trial supplies the subscribers with VOD and IPTV of HDTV class, high bit-rate Internet access and the ordinary broadcast TV. The noise property of the test trial is also measured and discussed. The test results prove that ECAN is featured with high access capacity, good anti-noise ability, and strong potential of being a powerful competitor in the broadband access over coax.","PeriodicalId":253478,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126544978","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, hybrid system achieve both multiplexing and diversity gains by reducing a little performance. Representative hybrid system is consisting as space time block coding (STBC) and spatial multiplexing (SM) symbols. However,the hybrid system has the almost same bit error rate (BER) performance as decision feedback equalization (DFE) and ordered successive interference cancellation (OSIC). How to ensure the security of this network, and how to perform the key management for authorized clients? This paper proposed a new three-layer architecture key distribution scheme of IISN based on condition access system. Our scheme in this paper is to fully utilize the special 3-layers architecture of IISN to design the key distribution model. The 3-layer architecture key distribution model consists of the aggregation server layer, the local server layer and the client layer. This scheme adds a local server layer into the common two-layer key distribution model. It is used to decrease the computation load. Moreover, a dynamical authorization key matrix is defined in this paper to improve the security and flexibility of the key distribution model. Theoretical analysis shows that this scheme has the high-security and good performance, and it is interesting for applications in IISN.","PeriodicalId":253478,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129403506","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
