A novel idea for the cooperative sensing is to allocate the secondary users with excellent detection performance to sense the corresponding primary user. The sensing task allocation is based on this idea in this paper. We formulate the problem to an optimization problem, but its a NP-hard problem. Then we propose a greedy search algorithm with which have comparable performance with that of brute-force search and have much less computational complexity. At last, we analysis the impacts of the user number and the distance to the systemic cooperative sensing time, validating the advantage of sensing task allocation.","PeriodicalId":253478,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114300893","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the carrier synchronization errors of MT system, including frequency offset and phase noise, were modeled as slowly varying Gaussian random processes with little variance. The coherent decision statistics and bit error rate (BER) were theoretically derived with imperfect carrier synchronization, which were verified by numerical simulations. The results show that, in the presence of synchronization errors, the BER performance of MT with same spreading codes on subcarriers is not determined by processing gain, while for different code case the performance could be improved since inter-subcarrier interference is suppressed by larger processing gain at the cost of bandwidth efficiency.","PeriodicalId":253478,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology","volume":"164 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115845627","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The widely used localization technique is range-free algorithm, especially DV-HOP (Distance Vector Hop) algorithm. But the traditional DV-HOP has the following drawback: the large communications overhead wastes the nodes' valuable energy, and limits the whole sensor network's lifetime and scalability. To solve the above problem, LHDV-HOP (DV-HOP of Limited Hops) is proposed in this paper, in which a hop threshold, N is set to limit the flooding range, and furthermore, three anchor nodes with the best precision for localization are chosen among all anchors within the N hops, as reference points. Simulation results show that LHDV-HOP can decrease the energy consumption, and meanwhile, improve the localization accuracy.","PeriodicalId":253478,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115389672","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Minimizing redundant rebroadcasts and time latency during re-broadcast can considerably improve network performance and node connectivity. In this paper we propose a Zone-based Routing Protocol with Parallel Collision Guidance Broadcasting (ZCG) for MANET. The network is divided into contiguous zones lead by the most reliable and capable nodes, called zone leaders, that are identified by a zone construction protocol. Routing is established using a new parallel collision guidance broadcasting technique which is initiated by the zone leaders for routing within and between zones. Through simulation results we demonstrate that ZCG provides fast routing and a reduction in control overheads in comparison with a typical reactive routing protocol (AODV).","PeriodicalId":253478,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology","volume":"65 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123136261","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the nature of unidirectional delivery, FLUTE is designed in a flexible way so that it can cooperate with different kinds of forward error correction codes in application layer, such as systematic Raptor codes or other FEC codes defined in IETF. Besides, since FLUTE is a generic IP-based file delivery protocol, it is already applied for multicast-based file distribution in IP-based mobile TV standards such as DVB-IPDC and OMA BCAST. In addition, the FLUTE protocol can also be applied for long haul, multi-hop file delivery in an IP-based intranet. In this paper, we describe the experience of using the FLUTE protocol for file delivery over a WiMAX unicast network and show the performance gain of employing a systematic Raptor code as the application layer FEC for FLUTE.","PeriodicalId":253478,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology","volume":"325 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123308859","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, this model allows each user to communicate with the base station either through direct path or relaying path. The investigated problem is formulated as maximizing system capacity with joint consideration of power distribution, subcarrier selection in direct path and subcarrier paring in relaying path. Also, the optimal criterion of selecting these two operating modes is analyzed. A low complexity algorithm is then proposed for allocating radio resources, and the performance is verified by some simulations results. It can be shown that the use of relaying does not always give better performance than only adopting direct path and an appropriate switching mechanism between direct and relaying modes can give much performance improvement.","PeriodicalId":253478,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE 12th International Conference on Communication Technology","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123517023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
