We analyze the attack path of these attacks, which features how the attack hijacks the host in the network and compromises the operations of field device controllers. The paper proposes a host-based protection method, which can prevent malware penetration into the process memory by code injection attacks. The method consists of two protection schemes. One is to prevent file-based code injection such as DLL injection. The other is to prevent fileless code injection. The method traces changes in memory regions and determine whether the newly allocated memory is written with malicious codes. For this method, we show how a machine learning method can be adopted.","PeriodicalId":253233,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th IEEE Congress on Information Science and Technology (CiSt)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129823189","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there is no consensus on which of the various metrics are the most suitable for classifiers' performance evaluation. This paper examines the applicability of common evaluation metrics for predictive maintenance applications in production systems. It is intended to clarify (1) which metrics are well suited for this use case, and (2) whether they are sufficient as a sole decision criterion for algorithm selection. Further, (3) the significance of evaluation metrics concerning the practical impact on the production system's performance is investigated. Moreover, we analyze (4) how increasing the production system's complexity affects the correlation between algorithm evaluation metrics and performance. We conducted 960 simulation runs of a flexible flow shop production system to examine the impact of machine breakdowns and different failure distributions with varying confusion matrices. In addition, two different configurations of the production system, which differ in system complexity, were investigated. Eventually, we determined the product-moment correlation coefficient between common evaluation metrics and the production system's performance. The simulation results reveal that metrics that are sensitive to false negative values (FN), like the False Omission Rate (FOR), are very well suited. Nevertheless, a detailed analysis shows that even (FOR) can only provide reliable statements combined with other metrics. We found that as the system becomes more complex, the informative value of the metrics in terms of their impact on the production system's performance decreases. Finally, we propose parameters that could be relevant for developing new metrics considering the current system configuration.","PeriodicalId":253233,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th IEEE Congress on Information Science and Technology (CiSt)","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123362072","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For a smooth transition from traditional to electrical vehicles, several electric vehicle charging stations must be planned. Rigorous placement of public charging stations may lead to stability problems in the power network grid. This can be avoided by intelligent Electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS) placement with consideration of traffic and grid planning. The stability problems associated with the electric vehicle charging due to high load may be solved by the expensive grid expansion. Another way to handle the situation is to place EVCS by planning algorithms to avoid the grid expansion for the coming years. In this paper, the authors present a new EVCS placement algorithm based on Monte Carlo simulation considering traffic model and grid modeling. The algorithm determines the optimal EVCS connection nodes taking into account different amounts/configurations of EVCS. Furthermore, the electric vehicles charging power of several EVCS has been scheduled optimally for the resulted configuration to reduce power losses. The input for the algorithm, the daily charge requirement, the amount of EVCS, and the number of electric vehicles has been determined by traffic modeling. The methodology has been implemented and tested in a low voltage network based on real data.","PeriodicalId":253233,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th IEEE Congress on Information Science and Technology (CiSt)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122230770","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The well-established face-to-face instruction was unexpectedly replaced by the distance format, generally linked to higher education courses, which are well planned, specially designed, and supported by smart technologies. The main objective of this study is to illustrate this situation from secondary and tertiary school teachers' perspectives. It focuses on the tools of distance education that teachers were able to use after the lockdown from their homes providing only limited technical resources. The study was conducted at Secondary and Tertiary School for medical Staff in Olomouc involving 64 teachers of both general and technical (medical) subjects, who were asked to answer questions regarding technologies and tools used within the distance education. Data obtained from this study revealed that most respondents used predominantly email communication and free online sources.","PeriodicalId":253233,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th IEEE Congress on Information Science and Technology (CiSt)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121094686","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective is to determine the optimal set (i.e. Pareto front) of decision variables that maximize the productivity and minimize the chemical losses. The optimization problem is a nonlinear problem involving two conflicting criteria (i.e. phosphate losses and gypsum production) along with equality and inequality constraints. The equality constraints consist of mass and energy balances, electro-neutrality equations, and thermodynamic equilibrium relations, whereas the inequality constraints are mainly given by the excess of sulfuric acid and the upper limit of the operating temperature to improve the performances of the filtration process downstream. The decision variables are defined by the distribution ratios of sulfuric acid over the sections of the tank, and the cooling heat to be removed in order to control the operating temperature within the tank. The Pitzer thermodynamic model was used to predict the two conflicting criteria and the formulated problem is solved by means of epsilon-constraint method. Compared to the real industrial experiments, the resulting optimal values of decision variables show that their implementation would significantly improve the performances of the manufacturing units.","PeriodicalId":253233,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th IEEE Congress on Information Science and Technology (CiSt)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116148542","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

GAFA (Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon), also represent a threat as they will be able to sell ultra-personalized insurance contracts tomorrow, thanks to the analysis of their user's data. At the same time, the insurance sector must adapt to the new behaviors of its customers who have perfectly integrated digital into their daily consumption patterns. This is illustrated by the desire to benefit from a better customer experience through the personalization of offers. It is therefore necessary for insurers to optimize both the quality of their services but also the customer experience and specially the claims side, in fact the client needs the insurance the most when the claim occurs, if he goes through complicated process the probability of changing the insurer gets higher. The claims processing becomes a real growth engine and the digital platforms are one of the best solution to a quick and reliable interaction with customer. This article is a review of existing claims processing digital solutions with a two level comparative study and assessment: functional and technical comparison. These solutions were analyzed to check if they meet business needs and if they are technically updated with new technologies. None of the studied platform manage the end to end claims' process neither performance technological impact.","PeriodicalId":253233,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th IEEE Congress on Information Science and Technology (CiSt)","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122870677","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
