The project was carried out by Pracownia Ludwisarska of Jan Felczyński from Przemyśl in cooperation with Rduch Bells & Clocks from Czernica and Metalodlew SA from Kraków. Comprehensive scientific and technical support of the project was provided by the Department of Foundry of the Silesian University of Technology. The bell is made of bronze, which is an alloy of copper and tin with a content of tin at the level of 20%. The foundry, where the melting and pouring process took place, had two 14 ton electric furnaces, 15 ton transport pouring ladle and a 60 ton collection ladle. Therefore, it was necessary to determine the minimum temperature of the pouring and the conditions for holding the liquid metal so that the metal from the first cast would not solidify before accumulating its total amount (four melts) (Bartocha and Baron, 2015; Bartocha and Baron, 2016). The study presents the tests of alloy properties and a series of computer simulations. Thanks to them the maximum and minimum permissible temperature of metal overheating has been determined (Bartocha, 2017). The final stage of the cast was the mold pouring process. The filling system was responsible for the correct performance of this process. This system comprised a tank (collector) under a doublestopper 60-ton main ladle, an eleven-meter tapping spout, an infusion tank and a downgate. The task of the gating system is uniform and continuous supply of liquid metal to the mold until it is completely filled. The unusual layout, that was used, required checking many factors. Various configurations of the system parameters have been tested based on the series of computer simulations (Czochlarski and Bukowski, 1935; Ignaszak, 1999).","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131796158","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Before testing the RC beams were loaded by 37% and 75% from bearing-capacity load of undamaged corrosion beams. There were tested two types of beams. First type beams were tested under force loading action and second type beams were tested under force loading and corrosion action. As an aggressive environment were used the 10% solution of sulfuric acid H2SO4. Such environment takes place in separate chemical manufactures, galvanic workshops, flue pipes of thermal power plants. The results of experimental studies have established that the effect of the aggressive environment with simultaneous loading significantly impairs the stress-strain state of reinforced concrete beams. Bearing capacity due to the yielding of reinforcement bars for specimens with the simultaneous action of aggressive environment and previous loading of 37% and 75% takes place on 51…53 and 58…60 days. The destruction of these specimens, by crushing compressive concrete, at previous loading 37% occurred after 75…79 and at previous loading 75% - after 79…88 days. The history loading does not impact significantly on beams failure, on finite deflections and timing exhaustion bearing capacity since the start of the simultaneous action of aggressive environment and loading.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134306823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The municipalities authorities are obliged to preventing the negative effects of environmental degradation, preventing pollution, providing information on the state of the environment, cover the environmental policy, in order to ensure the land advancement in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. The implemented projects should mainly improve the living conditions of the inhabitants. That is why eco-innovative activities introduced in individual, small territorial areas (municipalities) are becoming more and more important. There is an urgent need to improve efficiency and effectiveness of food supply chains. The global population is expected to reach at least 9 billion by the year 2050, requiring up to 70% more food than nowadays and demanding food production and distribution to become much more sustainable. Today, food safety is a worldwide concern due to a number of food safety scandals. As supply chains become more globalized and complex, the ability to track and trace products from fork to farm becomes more difficult but remains equally important. Good traceability may minimize the production and distribution of unsafe or poor quality products. It allows targeting the product affected by a food safety problem, minimizing disruption to trade and any potential public health risks. The objective of this paper is therefore to conduct a comprehensive analysis of traceability methods and technologies in food supply chains.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130045812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Continuous fibers in polyester give the best properties. The fibers carry mechanical loads, the matrix transfers the loads to the fibers, is ductile and tough, protect the fibers from handling and environmental damage. The working temperature and the processing conditions of the composite depend on the matrix material. Polyesters are the most commonly used matrices because they offer good properties at relatively low cost. The strength of the composite increases along with the fiber-matrix ratio and the fiber orientation parallel to the load direction. The longer the fibers, the more effective the load transfer is. Increasing the thickness of the laminate leads to a reduction in the strength of the composite and the modulus of strength, since the likelihood of the presence of defects increases. The aim of this research is to analyze the change in the mechanical properties of the polymer composite. The polymer composite consists of carbon fibers and epoxy resin. The change in compressive strength in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the fiber orientation was evaluated. At the same time, the influence of the wet environment on the change of mechanical properties of the composite was evaluated.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131372443","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since all of us face to the poor quality results on daily basis, it is necessary to deploy an appropriate set of quality tools in order to improve the total quality level. The quality level of supplied parts in terms of the product quality including the design, development, and manufacturing process has significantly been influencing the quality results of serial production. The contemporary business philosophy for supplier's selection uses merely the only criterion, the lowest price. The article describes some problems stemming from this philosophy and practice, determines a systemic approach and proposes a solution in order to improve supplier's reliability in terms of quality of supplied parts and customer satisfaction.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133319959","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Oxide coatings were prepared on EN AW-5251 aluminum alloy samples. The samples surfaces were subjected to hard anodizing process in a multicomponent electrolyte based on sulfuric acid with an addition of organic acids. Anodizing was carried out with a constant electric charge density of 180 A·min/dm2. The distances between the electrodes for subsequent samples increased every 0.125 m up to 1 m. The tribological partner in a sliding couple with oxide layers was pin of PEEK/BG. Tribological tests were conducted on a T-17 tester in reciprocating motion, in technically dry friction conditions. Before and after tribological test, examination of the geometrical structure of counter-specimens’ surface was carried out using the Form Talysurf contact profilographometer, via a 3D method. The most satisfactory tribological parameters were obtained for the PEEK/BG association with the coating produced at a distance between the electrodes equal to 0.25 m.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128710352","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A very recently developed metaheuristic method called JAYA algorithm (JA) is implemented in this study for optimization of truss structures. The main feature of JA is that it does not require setting algorithm specific parameters. The algorithm has a very simple formulation where the basic idea is to approach the best solution and escape from the worst solution. Analyses of structures are performed by a finite element code in MATLAB. The effectiveness of JA algorithm is demonstrated through benchmark spatial truss 39-bar, and compare with results in references.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128824492","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
