The experiments deal with the testing of specimens for identification of the strain-life behavior of material, the modeling of combined loading and determining the number of cycles to fracture in the region of low-cycle fatigue. Fatigue tests under constant amplitude loading were performed in a standard electromechanical machine with a suitable gripping system. Based on the experimental results the fatigue design curves are compared to the fatigue data from the base material and the welded material and also multiaxial fatigue models, which are able to predict fatigue life at different loads.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127491224","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Widely understood heating secures both: the living needs of society and industrial recipients. Modern heating systems should guarantee reliability of heat supply while limiting energy consumption and transmission losses. It results from the sustainable development strategy, implemented in the European Union, which is based on the development of renewable energy and improvement of energy efficiency. As a consequence of such an energy policy, investments and innovations are implemented in the two areas of the heating sector: technical infrastructure and management of the heat generation and transmission system. The article discusses legal as well as technical and economic conditions for the operation of heating companies, including aspects of energy security. The characteristics of the heat market in Poland and investment expenditures related to the modernisation of infrastructure and environmental protection has been presented in it. Selected innovations used in the process of heat production and supply have been described as well as modern technologies and IT tools that improve management of heating system. The possibilities and limitations of innovative heating development have also been indicted here.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115702748","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the alternatives is to limit pollution related to road transport by using CNG fuel. The European Union is imposing increasingly strict requirements regarding the cleanness of car fumes, and the Polish government is endeavouring to take actions aimed at reducing the pollution related to car use by planning the development of transport electromobility. In this article, the authors want to draw attention to methane as an alternative to traditional fuels. The article presents the results of a survey conducted among drivers, which regarded their readiness to use CNG-powered cars. The results indicate that while respondents appreciate the ecological value of this fuel, they are also worried about safety, which is contradicted by the analysis of CNG advantages and disadvantages.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"227 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114162272","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Presence of halides in environment evokes a possibility of the local corrosion which limits seriously exploitation of this material in aggressive conditions. The presented paper is focused on the pitting corrosion resistance (“as received” steel surface) in 1M chloride solution (pH=1.2) at a common (20 °C) and an elevated (50 °C) ambient temperatures. 24-hours exposure immersion test (ASTM G48) and cyclic potentiodynamic test (ASTM G61) are used as the independent test methods. The exposure immersion test is carried out with cross-rolled and longitudinally rolled specimens and the effect of direction of rolling on the resistance to pitting is studied.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114754940","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This topic is very important for two reasons: firstly nonparametric control charts are very effective instruments for the realization of the statistical process monitoring phase I due to their robustness against various deviations from the data assumptions that must be met when applying model-based control charts. Secondly nonparametric control charts have very weak SW support and also they are not taught in the frame of training courses not even of the university study programmes. For that reason the practitioners do not know them and do not use them. The paper offers the proposal how to practically apply these control charts which is based on the complex simulation study of various nonparametric control charts performance when various data assumptions have not been met. The study has covered these nonparametric control charts: Shewhart sign control chart, nonparametric EWMA and nonparametric CUSUM control charts, nonparametric progressive mean control chart, control chart based on Mood statistics and robust median absolute deviation control chart. All charts have been studied in condition of not normally distributed data, autocorrelated data and data with nonconstant distribution parameters. The simulations were realized for statistically stable (IC – in control) and also statistically unstable (OC – out of control) processes. For the evaluation of the control charts performance median run length, 0.05-quantile, and 0.95-quantile were used.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121130860","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Various enterprises have experienced benefits owing to the Lean implementation. Following the use of appropriate lean instruments and techniques, there are many factors that affect successful lean implementation process. Researchers have identified a large number of these success factors to implementation of Lean. Understanding these enablers and the interactions between them can be crucial to the success of lean implementation. Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) is one of the established methodologies to bring forward the interrelationships among parameters of an issue or a problem. The purpose of this paper is to create the hierarchy of the various success factors to Lean Implementation according to their importance using the approach of ISM to facilitate Small and Medium enterprises (SMEs) across India.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"182 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129291821","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The common practice of most organizations is to implement a quality management system (mostly according to ISO 9001), and then implement other management systems. Companies in the Czech Republic have the possibility of certification of CSR via the Czech standard CSN 01 0391: 2013 which corresponds to the structure and requirements of other ISO standards. The article analyses common elements of both standards. The output is a proposal of the process of parallel implementation of these two management systems into a newly established organization.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127194892","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The relationship between the development of technology and society is still underappreciated. There is a vital need to make technical managers aware of the rules governing interpersonal relationships. This theoretical article aims to bring the basic concepts of social sciences closer to recipients focused on constant improvement of the production quality. The essence of the work process is primarily the fact that it is done by a human being and mostly in a group of people. This is related to the consequences of sociological nature to which managers do not pay enough attention. Instead of focusing on social and interpersonal problems they are dealing with organizational issues. The conclusion of consideration leads to underlining the need for constant improvement - manager training in social engineering principles.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128096493","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
