One of such methods can be utilization of sewage sludge in construction materials industry, particularly in concrete technology and other materials based on cement. It allows using waste materials as a passive additive (filler) or also as an active additive (replacement of part of bonding material). The article aims at presenting the analysis of the effect of adding slag, achieved from wastewater sludge incineration in sewage treatment plant, on properties and quality of concrete mix and hardened concrete. Using an experimental method, the researcher designed the composition of the control concrete mix, which was then modified by means of slag. For all concrete mixtures determined – air content with the use of pressure method and consistency measured by the use of concrete slump test. For all concrete series the following tests were conducted: compressive strength of concrete after 7, 28 and 56 days of maturing, frost resistance for 100 cycles of freezing and thawing, water absorption. The use of slag, ground once in the disintegrator, causes a decrease of in compressive strength of concrete samples in relation to the control concrete series as well as bigger decrease in compressive strength after frost resistance test.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116580700","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research was conducted on the example of production enterprises that function in metal industry. The enterprises for the research were chosen purposefully, because of two reasons - the possibility to obtain information on the researched area and the assumption that these enterprises use the lean concept instruments. The questionnaire was the research tool. The goal of the research was to examine, what are the most expected advantages from implementing of lean concept methods, and what were the real advantages, that occurred in production system of researched enterprises. The authors presented the quantitative results of the study and carried out an analysis of the response in the form of a matrix. The developed matrix extended the knowledge about the distribution of observed benefits. It enables to indicate which advantages occurred in the enterprises expecting and not expecting some benefits.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122422360","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the article the study of stress-strain state of mixed steel-concrete beams, were presented. The results of this study showed that the method of calculation according to designe codes gave satisfactorily results of calculated strength compared with experiments. However, these methodes do not provide complete information of structural performance at all levels of load. For a more complete study of the stress-strain state and the physical nature of the processes occurring in steel-concrete structures reinforced with a mixed reinforcement, the calculation method using “Lira” software complex is proposed. The method of calculation is based on the finite element method. The calculation is made taking into account physical nonlinearity and real diagrams of σ-ε of materials using the nonlinear deformation law №14 of “Lira” software complex. The proposed method of calculation allows to determine the values of bearing capacity, the development of deformations and the beginning of crack formation, as well as stresses at all load levels.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128752350","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The growth was not free from turmoil, as the industry faced many disruptive changes, market crashes, fusions and takeovers. High development costs and fierce competition make video games a high-risk business. While it seems obvious that companies in such unstable environment should strive to achieve the highest quality of their products, the uniqueness, variety, complexity, and constant evolution of video games makes common definitions and models of quality difficult to apply. This article provides an overview of problems concerning the application of the term “quality”, it's frameworks and measurement methods to video games.","PeriodicalId":251135,"journal":{"name":"Quality Production Improvement - QPI","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131282554","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
