An elderly patient after coming through COVID-19 infection began to consider himself and his wife a distributor of the coronavirus infection, constituting himself a danger to the public. Against the background of feeling of impending doom, he felt the sense of disgrace, shame and self-contempt for himself and expected a negative attitude from others, including discrimination, so he was ready to commit suicide. Under the influence of these delusional ideas, he tried to kill his wife and himself, but by a lucky chance all the defendants in the case remained alive. The forensic psychiatric examination recognized him insane. Delirium of the coronavirus (self)contempt is a sensual delusion that develops against the background of a severe stress (or depression), by the conditions of formation (character, experience, environment) it resembles sensitive reference delusion. The paper discusses the involvement of self-stigmatization (stigma and discrimination) phenomena, the influence of COVID-19 on the development and pathoplasty of delusional (super-valuable) ideas in this psychopathological phenomenon.","PeriodicalId":249759,"journal":{"name":"Acta medica Eurasica","volume":"96 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115676650","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to WHO, in 2020, this type of cancer accounted for one in eight new cases of cancer in the world and one in four – among women: this disease was diagnosed in 2.3 million people. One of the factors influencing a high mortality rate among patients with this diagnosis can be attributed to an increase in the level of tumor cells resistance to the chemotherapeutic preparations used, so today it is extremely important to search for new preparations that have high specificity for malignant neoplasms, low toxicity and availability for patients. In this regard, a lot of researchers' attention is attracted by compounds of natural origin, in particular the group of flavonoids, which includes isoliquiritigenin. According to the results of modern studies, this compound can have antitumor activity in vitro and in vivo, affecting the molecular mechanisms of regulating the growth and survival of tumor cells. The aim of this article is to study the antitumor antiproliferative activity of isoliquiritigenin on the HeLa, PC-3, and MCF-7 tumor cells lines in vitro. The antiproliferative activity was evaluated using the MTT test with the exposure of cells with the test compound for 72 hours. As a result of the study, isoliquiritigenin showed a dose-dependent antiproliferative effect on human tumor lines PC-3, MCF-7 in the concentration range 10–4–2,5×10–5 mol/l.","PeriodicalId":249759,"journal":{"name":"Acta medica Eurasica","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122590421","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Angiogenesis supports the strength and integrity of the connections in blood vessel endothelial cells with each other and with the basement membrane. This ensures nutrition of tissues and organs, saturation with oxygen, macronutrients and micronutrients. Along with this, angiogenesis contributes to timely elimination of metabolic products. Metastatic spreading and tumor growth are supported by uncontrolled angiogenesis, that is why it is important to study the works dedicated to neutralization of angiogenesis factors, which becomes a method of combating various oncological diseases and other pathologies. The aim of this work was to study the information about modern drugs, including those at the stage of clinical trials, capable of neutralizing angiopoietin-2 – an inhibitor of angiogenesis and vascular growth factor (VEGF) – an angiogenesis activator, to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of various doses of drugs in various pathologies, to analyze the current state of studying tumor angiogenesis, achievements and prospects for the use of antiangiogenic drugs in oncological practice. The main focus was on the role of angiogenesis inhibitors and activators. To construct and structure the meta-analysis, we conducted a systematic review of the literature, searching works in open Internet resources such as PubMed, CyberLeninka, PsycINFO, Elibrary, published in the period from January 1, 2016 to March 31, 2021, devoted to studies on the effectiveness of drugs aimed at neutralizing angiopoietin-2 and VEGF. Conference materials and dissertations were analyzed to obtain additional data on research in this area.","PeriodicalId":249759,"journal":{"name":"Acta medica Eurasica","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129194212","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of the study is to demonstrate the opportunities of conventional software distributed under the GNU license, designed for color analysis of photos in histology to identify differences in tinctorial properties of tissues. The authors evaluated the opportunities of the Color Analysis program launched in the Android Nox Player 6.6.1.0 emulator (GNU license) under Windows 10 for color analysis of photomicrographs of various tissues histological sections. Photomicrographs of paraffin sections of 5 microns thick were obtained using a micro-microscope Mikmed-5 using a Levenhuk C800 NG 8M video eyepiece, USB 2.0. A white light lamp Feron G4 4000 K was used as an illuminator. In color analysis of photomicrographs stained with hematoxylin and eosin, or hematoxylin and Congo red, or by Unna, or by the designer three-color amyloid staining in the Color Analysis program, color separation patterns were obtained that reflect the relative area (%) of the field of view staining with shades characteristic for this method of staining. The authors formulate the standard conditions for the preparation of histological specimen and conditions for photographing micro-preparations to obtain comparable results in an experiment with the control-experience design. It is concluded that the program color analysis provides a significant amount of additional information about the histological material, which can be formalized and studied as statistical values.","PeriodicalId":249759,"journal":{"name":"Acta medica Eurasica","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121910982","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is thanks to electroconvulsive therapy that high rates of remission are achieved in patients. The main clinical indications for electroconvulsive therapy are severe depression with a high risk of suicide, life-threatening somatic conditions due to depression. Electroconvulsive therapy is usually used in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy as a last-line method of choice if there are convincing indications for its administration, to quickly eliminate the symptoms. When performing electroconvulsive therapy, the risks of using anesthesia, side effects, severity of the somatic condition, as well as the risks of not using this therapy are evaluated. Although electroconvulsive therapy is considered to be a safe and effective method for treating mental patients if necessary measures are taken to reduce potential risks, it is extremely rarely used to treat women with mental disorders during pregnancy and the postpartum period.","PeriodicalId":249759,"journal":{"name":"Acta medica Eurasica","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127898012","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The current relevance of typhoid fever problem in the Russian Federation is determined by its persistent sporadic morbidity. Reduced control over the sanitary and hygienic state of the environment, deterioration of the quality of water treatment in water supply and sewerage systems, and a number of other reasons can still result in an increase in the number of patients with typhoid-paratyphoid diseases. At the same time, a mild and subtle course of typhoid fever is a common cause of late disease diagnosis and late start of the patient's treatment. Methods of modern diagnosis and treatment of typhoid-paratyphoid disease are considered. The article describes a case of typhoid fever that was diagnosed in the Chuvash Republic in 2017 after a long period of epidemiological welfare. The aim of the study is to analyze an imported case of typhoid fever and characterize the current course of the disease in the period of sporadic morbidity. A retrospective analysis of the patient's history of typhoid fever was performed. The diagnosis was made on the basis of clinical, epidemiological and laboratory data. To confirm the diagnosis of typhoid fever, bacteriological methods to study blood, urine and feces were used. The study of this female patient's medical history showed that there were no typical symptoms characteristic of typhoid fever: subcutaneous fat was moderately expressed, on palpation submandibular lymph nodes were painless, mobile, of soft-elastic consistency up to 0.6 cm. Nasal breathing was not disturbed, breathing was vesicular, the RR was 16 movements per 1 min., heart tones were muted, rhythmic, the heart rate was 100 beats / min, BP – 120/75 mm Hg, temperature – 39°C. The tongue was dry, coated with a grayish-brown plaque with tooth marks on the edges. The pharynx was moderately hyperemic. The stomach was soft, painless, the liver and the spleen were not enlarged, Padalka’s symptom was negative. The patient reported fecal excretion with a tendency to constipation. There was no CVA tenderness on both sides. Thus, it is difficult to make a diagnosis of typhoid fever with sporadic morbidity. Modern clinical presentation of typhoid fever in moderate severity differs from the classic one. The patient had an atypical course of typhoid fever. Typhoid status was absent. The cutaneous coverings were normal, there was no rash. There was no congestive splenomegaly or Padalka's symptoms. No complications or relapses developed. The diagnosis was made only when the pathogen was seeded from the blood (hemoculture) and basing on clear epidemiological data.","PeriodicalId":249759,"journal":{"name":"Acta medica Eurasica","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130386586","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
