The approach is based on a new outage condition definition and overall system error performance evaluation. The features of the system are fully automatic route control for large-scale stations, a maintenance-work management system and an advanced man-machine system for dispatchers to adjust a disturbed diagram quickly. The system also has a flexible system construction and is expandable. These features are achieved by using autonomous decentralized system technology. This system was developed for ATOS (Autonomous decentralized Transport Operation control System) in the Tokyo metropolitan area, which is a high-density railway line section. The Autonomous Decentralized Traffic Management System was also applied to COSMOS (COmputerized Safety Maintenance and Operation system of Shinkansen) on the Shinkansen line sections of the East Japan Railway Company. The division of data field is based on the mutuality of facilities. All the units except the local management unit and the communication unit, can be reconfigured so function of these units can be altered easily. The local management unit configures new units when the system is to be expanded. This theory, has been analyzed based on some product design projects. These analyses have revealed that ideas are embodied after the verbal abstraction of images from little hints that occur in one's mind in everyday life, and that these ideas are embodied in illogical scenarios. Especially the implementation of computer graphics (CG) has been found to boost the effectiveness of visualization to collaborate with the other members in the design process. Since the onset of the era of network communication designers have just got down to the work of creating WWW homepage and content designs. Pole assignment of the decentralized multirate sampling digital control system is then discussed. The constraints due to the non-classical information pattern of the decentralized structure and the casual condition due to multirate sampling have posed structure constraints on the considered controller. It is pointed out that these constraints can be met by prefixing some elements in the controller gain matrices. The optimization computation problem of energy-saving train operations on an undulating-slope line is discussed by means of an intelligent computation model in this paper. To generate the optimal train operation diagram, an intelligent computation model combining local optimization with global optimization is proposed. The local optimization's numerical functions are obtained from the simulation computation, and the construction of those data is realized by a neural network. The global optimization computation, using a genetic algorithm, generates the train operation diagram. Theoretical analysis and simulation experiments show that the result is satisfactory.
