The method can be applied either to design/reproduce the doping profile in the varactor structure which corresponds to a given/measured frequency-voltage characteristics, or to foresee the tuning characteristics of a VCO with a given varactor. The varactor is considered as a capacitor with series resistance. The main construction parameters of the oscillator are also derived.","PeriodicalId":248044,"journal":{"name":"1990 20th European Microwave Conference","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124611737","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The input reflection of the MSA array and the Radar Cross Section (RCS) was measured without special equipment in laboratory conditions. The sensor is a stripline with electrothermomechanical film as a substrate. The film consists of plastic with air cells. When pressure is applied on the film, the dimensions of the air cells change. When the film is used as substrate in a stripline the pressure changes the impedance of the stripline, which can be detected with a pulse or a voltage step transmitted in the line. The reflection from the impedance discontinuity gives the amplitude and the location of the pressure.","PeriodicalId":248044,"journal":{"name":"1990 20th European Microwave Conference","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129918148","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Generally speaking, these active filters are obtained by connecting to the classical passive D.R. filters coupled to microstrip lines, an active loop composed of an amplifier and a phase shifter. The advantages of these circuits are to improve loaded Q of the D.R. and the filtering selectivity, to compensate dissipative losses and to permit an electrical tuning of resonant frequency and bandwidth [1], [2], [3]. An improved three poles D.R. active filter model has been realized including microwave passive and active circuits and tuning D.C. bloc (figure 1). No losses with a 24 MHz 3 dB bandwidth was easily obtained.","PeriodicalId":248044,"journal":{"name":"1990 20th European Microwave Conference","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128737138","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Main problems are the complexity of measurement set-ups and errors caused by the flexible cables or rotary joints needed in the system. To overcome these problems a novel differential phase measurement method has been developed. It was used to measure phase center positions and phase patterns of two corrugated horns at 105-115 GHz and 176-190 GHz. Good agreement between the measured values and theoretical values, calculated with the modal matching technique, was obtained.","PeriodicalId":248044,"journal":{"name":"1990 20th European Microwave Conference","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128967546","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
