Service-oriented architecture is considered as the key to enabling collaboration in industrial cyber-physical systems. On the device level, software components are expected to act as services that can be published and accessed from other distributed nodes. In this paper, a plug-and-play service component approach is proposed based on web service description language (WSDL) and IEC 61499 function blocks. Those services are able to be discovered by adopting device profiles for web services (DPWS). Plug-and-play software services are demonstrated on a building automation system example and future works on automatic service orchestration are discussed.","PeriodicalId":247794,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132764759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed method could achieve decoupling control in synchronous reference frame rotated with the harmonic order, and could improve a performance of harmonic current control system, e.g. transient response. In addition, the proposed current controller is designed by using only controller bandwidth and fundamental parameters such as armature resistance and d-q axis inductances, therefore the proposed method is not effected by identification errors of spatial harmonics and has low parameter sensitivity. Effectiveness of the proposed method is revealed by simulation results and experimental results.","PeriodicalId":247794,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116000877","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional walking methods require high computational power and advanced controllers to realize bipedal walking. In this proposed method, an exoskeleton attached to the human's lower body is used to obtain the joint information and the obtained joint information is then replicated on a biped robot in real time. The lateral motion of the center of mass of the biped is constrained in this experiment and is not discussed in this paper. Since a direct motion transmission is used in the proposal, this method is quite straight forward and a simultaneous walking can be realized at the same time with a high performance. Also, it doesn't require any dynamic model of the biped or specific trajectory planning method. The gait of the biped is directly determined by that of the human. Therefore, this method can copy the motion of human walking to a biped. Results obtained from the experiments validate the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":247794,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122224316","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The previous method is robust against a considerable time-delay in sensory information, but it still requires large muscular forces to accomplish a desired position, and the maximum exertable muscular force has not yet been taken into consideration. To cope with these two issues, two variable parameters are newly introduced. One is for changing the combination ratio of feed-forward and feedback controllers to reduce necessary muscular forces. The other is for avoiding the saturation of muscular forces during movement The effectiveness of the proposed controller is demonstrated through several numerical simulation results.","PeriodicalId":247794,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125517908","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, two-wheel wheelchairs are unstable system, and the body of the wheelchairs must be stabilized. In the conventional method, stabilization control was achieved, but the only stability of the body has been considered and the motion of the wheel has not been controlled. In this paper, a robust wheel-velocity control is proposed in order to improve the stability and the operability of the two-wheel wheelchair. We realize both stabilization of the body and velocity tracking of the wheels using sliding mode control with disturbance observer. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed by some experimental results.","PeriodicalId":247794,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116777193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the conventional myoelectric prostheses, it was hardly unable to control the grasping force precisely or to grasp an unevenly shaped object flexibly. In this paper, development of haptic prosthetic hand is achieved, which realizes intuitive operation by the following two functions: first, is the transmission of force sensation to the master interface attached to the healthy part of the body, second, is an adaptation to the shape of an object with flexibleness. The developed haptic prosthetic hand has multi degrees of freedom (DOFs), and the master interface has a limited number of DOF. Therefore, to control the multi-DOFs haptic prosthetic hand by a simple operation of the master interface, different DOF bilateral control is implemented as a control method. Haptics is used to realize intuitive operation, and the proposed variable compliance control is used for environmental adaptation. These functions enable to replace the force sensation of the missing hand, by any remaining healthy part of the body. Experiments were conducted to evaluate the function of the developed haptic prosthetic hand.","PeriodicalId":247794,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"2003 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116847445","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A capacitor on the AC side is used as power decoupling element. By appropriate selection of the capacitor voltage, the power ripple at twice the AC frequency can be cancelled from the DC side instantaneous power, achieving negligible DC voltage ripple using a smaller total capacitance compared to traditional solutions. Recently, several solutions using the concept of Ripple-Port have been proposed that reduce the overall capacitance. However, they usually need at least a dedicated PWM half-bridge leg, adding switching loss, and a separate LC tank. Instead, the proposed topology integrates the ripple compensation in the AC/DC conversion stage, exploiting the AC filter and minimising additional loss thanks to the ZVS of the additional H-bridge. The concept of the steady state operation of the proposed converter is described analytically and validated in simulation using MATLAB Simulink and PLECS.","PeriodicalId":247794,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125566128","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The novel options have been designed and their performance is compared with the conventional EE core inductor using finite element analysis. It is observed that there is a significant reduction in total losses at fundamental frequency along with substantial reduction in the AC copper loss at 10, 15 and 20 kHz switching frequencies, when the proposed integrated options are utilized. For the motor-shaped rotational inductor, the total losses at fundamental frequency and AC copper loss at different switching frequencies are reduced by 26.1% and 73.8% (at different switching frequencies) respectively. There is a reduction in overall volume by 3.6%, but this comes with 11.7% increase in weight. For the motor-shaped rotor-less inductor, the total losses at fundamental frequency and AC copper loss at different switching frequencies are reduced by 10.4% and 73.8% (at different switching frequencies) respectively. There is a reduction in overall volume by 3.6% but this comes with 6.1% increase in weight. Two topologies of auxiliary inverters are investigated: the use of AC choppers implemented with bidirectional switches as well as using the more traditional H-bridge inverter. A modified modulation scheme for the main inverter enables the elimination of the zero voltage vectors which allows the use of only two switchings per switching period which may reduce significantly the associated switching losses. As the result is a quasi-trapezoidal output phase voltage, the auxiliary inverters are controlled to remove the differential mode distortion. Simulation results prove that the proposed hybrid grid interface is able to provide low harmonic voltage content.","PeriodicalId":247794,"journal":{"name":"IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114422418","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
