If this is not managed as soon as possible, damage to mangrove forests will become more extensive. In general, there are two factors causing damage to the mangrove forests that occurred in the Kuala Bubon, namely human factors and natural factors. The objective of this study is to determine the use of mangrove forests for the life of coastal communities and the participation of communities in the preservation of mangroves. The method of data collection using survey methods is carried out from descriptive and quantitative way. Perception and community participation were analyzed using quantitative descriptive methods. The method used to measure people's perception is the Likert scale method. The results of the study showed that the use of mangroves for the life of coastal communities was still in the middle category, based on the categorization of the data, revealed that the value of using the mangrove (1,113) is one of the criteria that approaches high levels. This shows that the use of mangroves in the village of Kuala Bubon, Samatiga district, West Aceh Regency is already good, although there is still no specific sanction for people who cut illegally. Community participation in the conservation of mangroves can improve the lives of coastal communities is still insufficient when, based on the calculation of the categorization of data obtained, the value of the community participation of 1,498 is among the average criteria.","PeriodicalId":246413,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL PERIKANAN TROPIS","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130230738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Common types of fishing gear used in West Aceh are beach seines, fishing rods, gill nets and traps. One of the success factors for fishing with traps is bait. Many previous researchers have examined traps regarding the different types of bait used. Therefore, the researcher has an idea about trap arresting devices, making renewable innovations by utilizing the light placed in the traps to lure fish to gather and enter the trap. Light is a tool to collect fish into catchable areas. The type of lamp used in this study is underwater lamps. This LED lamp is a type of lamp that is durable, energy efficient, environmentally friendly, efficient and inexpensive. The purpose of this study is to get a construction and determine the effectiveness of underwater lamps that are designed and get more catches. The research method used in this activity is a tool design method. This research was initiated by designing, making and testing tools in the laboratory and field. Data collection was carried out using descriptive methods and statistical analysis. The type of data needed in this study are primary data and secondary data. Primary data is collected by making direct measurements with related parameters such as measurements of light illumination, bubu construction, operational costs, fishing time and the type and composition of fish catches. Whereas secondary data collection by means of literature study. Data analysis used is descriptive method using data tabulation and graphical methods based on the results obtained.","PeriodicalId":246413,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL PERIKANAN TROPIS","volume":"82 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116726090","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research method was experimental with a completely randomized design (RAL), 3 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment given was immersion of kerling fish seeds infected with fungi in a solution of sea lettuce extract with the concentration of treatment namely: K (control) = 0 ppm, P1=5 ppm, P2=10 ppm, dan P3=15 ppm. Phytochemical test results showed that the content of bioactive compounds contained in ethanol extract of seaweed were alkaloids, steroids and phenolic/tannins. Ethanol extract of sea lettuce can inhibit the growth of Saprolegnia and Achlya in vitro by forming a clear zone of 5.7 mm (medium). This study aims to collect a database of mangrove ecosystems which includes the ecological structure of R. apiculata in Riau Province. Collecting data of mangrove vegetation condition was done by transect line and plot. The line transect was drawn from the reference point (the outer mangrove stand) with the direction perpendicular to the coastline to the mainland and made plots according to the category. The results showed that the population of R. apiculata was found in large numbers at Station 3 (350 ind) and a small/small amount was found at Station 1 (137 ind). In addition, Stations 1, 2 and 4 have only one grouping population of R. apiculata based on the Bhattacharya method, while Station 3 has two groupings. Furthermore, the highest R. apiculata density for tree category was obtained at Station 4 (1433.33 ind/m2), saplings category at Station 3 (10488.89 ind/m2) and seedlings category at Station 4 (3666667 ind/m2). Furthermore the water temperature ranged from 28.3 – 30.7°C, salinity 27.3 – 31.3, pH 7.3 – 7.9, DO 5.2 – 6.4 and redox potential ranged from 102 – 124 mV. Based on the standard criteria and guidelines for determining mangrove damage according to the Decree of the Minister of Environment No. 201 of 2004, the population density of R. apiculata at the research location is still classified as medium and refers to the Decree of the State Minister of Environment No. 51 of 2004 concerning Sea Water Quality Standards for Marine Biota, as a whole the range of measured water quality parameters is still within tolerance limits for life mangroves.","PeriodicalId":246413,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL PERIKANAN TROPIS","volume":"378 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126723858","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
