Furthermore, the authors state that e-banking involves the procurement of data or services by a bank to its clients using a computer. Whereas, Daniel (1999) discourses that e-banking involves a more erudite service that provides customers with the chance to get access to their accounts and carry out financial transactions (transfer money to settle liabilities, pay bills, and buy items online, etc.) using the internet, all to ensure that the needs of customers are satisfied. Abstract: This study examined the effect of e-banking services on customer satisfaction in deposit money banks in Adamawa State capital. Three deposit money banks (First Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, and United Bank for Africa) operating in Yola were selected for this study. The independent variable is e-banking services that are represented by Internet banking, Automated Teller Machine Service (ATM), Short Message Service (SMS) banking, and mobile banking. The convenience sampling technique was used to select 150 customers of the three sampled banks. 150 Questionnaires were distributed to the respondents where 115 were found valid and used for analysis purposes. With the aid of the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 20, the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple regression. From the regression result, internet banking and ATM service have a significant positive effect on customer satisfaction in the selected deposit money banks in Adamawa State capital. But SMS banking has an insignificant positive effect on customer satisfaction, while mobile banking has an insignificant negative effect on customer satisfaction of the sampled banks. Hence, the study recommends that management of deposit money banks in Nigeria, specifically in Adamawa State capital (Yola) should do everything possible to ensure that internet banking and ATM service are in addition provided to customers effectively. In a study by Isobor et al e-banking was found to improve both customers' satisfaction and caused economic growth in Nigeria. For the study, the authors selected customers (who were as well the respondents) based on electronic banking and their use of the banks' electronic services. Out of the 107 questionnaires retrieved from the respondents, only 100 were useable and used for analysis. For testing the hypothesis developed in the study, a statistical parametric test called Paired Sample t-test was employed to test the significance through the use of the SPSS statistical package. In light of this, decisions regarding whether to pay, when to pay, and how to pay dividends have dominated academics as well as professional debates. Several studies were conducted on the relationship between financial performance and dividend in developed and emerging economies (Tran, 2017). However, some of the previous studies focused on dividend policies and how such Abstract: Purpose: Despite it critical attention received in finance theory, dividend policy remains one of the most controversial issues in corporate finance, hence, financial economists have engaged in modeling and examining corporate dividend policy and earnings as they affect stock prices. However, only few studies were conducted in respect to financial performance and dividend payout. Therefore, the motivation of this study to examine the effect of financial performance on dividend payout of the listed companies in Nigeria. Design/Methodology: The study adopts ex-post facto research design as data were collected from the annual reports and accounts of the companies for the period of five years (2016-2020). The data collected were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings: The result of the analyses revealed that return on assets and return on equity have positive and significant effect on the dividend payout ratio of the listed companies in Nigeria, while return on capital employed has negative but significant effect on the dividend payout ratio of the companies. Implications: The financial performance of the listed companies in Nigeria has a positive and significant effect on the dividend payout of the companies. Thus, in order for the listed companies in Nigeria to boost their dividend payment, the management of the companies should maximize the utilisation of the capital employed to generate more income that will add value to the companies, while ensuring the effective and efficient management of the resources of the shareholders to boost return on asset and return on equity, since they were found to have positive influence on the dividend pay-out ratio of the sampled firms.","PeriodicalId":246044,"journal":{"name":"The International Journal of Business & Management","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131908091","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this regard, the adoption of MATs can help organizations to improve their project performance continually and consequently overall national economic development. Therefore, the study investigated influence of management accounting techniques on project performance of construction companies in Nigeria. The objectives were, to assess the performance level of construction companies in Nigeria, to examine the influence of activity-based costing (ABC), strategic analysis, and budgeting practices on project performance. The study used quantitative research design while the target population was all the 35 major construction firms. The sample size was 13 companies. The research used questionnaire to gather data from 170 managers. The study used descriptive statistics and inferential analysis. The study found that ABC, strategic analysis, and budgeting practices had positive relationship with project performance. The study concludes that the companies employed ABC to improve performance. The study concludes that most companies used both internal and external analysis to improve performance. The study concludes that many companies failed to involve all departments during budgeting. The research concludes that the government policies did not provide conducive business environment. The study sought to establish influence of employee training on public service delivery of Huduma centres in Kenya, and mediating variable of government policies. The study was anchored on servqual model, human capital theory and the new public model. Descriptive research design was used. The target population included branch managers, section supervisors and public customers of all the 52 Huduma centres in Kenya. Multi-stage probability sampling was used. A sample of 46 branch managers and 314 section supervisors were included using simple random sampling method. A total of 360 public customers were sampled using purposeful sampling. The study employed primary and secondary data. Primary data was obtained through self-administered questionnaires. Validity and reliability were determined through use of a pilot study. Secondary data was obtained from reviewing relevant literature and government statistics. Data analysis was done using both descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Descriptive analysis measured and assessed numerical values of variables such as the mean and standard deviation. Cronbach’s alpha measured reliability. Inferential data analysis involved correlation coefficient (r) and multiple linear regression analysis. Study results showed a positive significant low linear association between employee training and public service delivery (PSD). There was a moderate linear association of the mediating relationship between government policies and PSD at 99% confidence level. Hypothesis results show that employee training has significance influence on PSD. Findings also show that, a unit increase in employee training leads to a unit increase in PSD. This shows that employee training practices motivate employees to work more hard. Moreso, government policies have a mediating relationship between employees’ training and PSD. The study recommends the government to re-evaluate policies. Moreso, there should be proper implementation and use of human resource practices in Huduma centres so as to increase efficiency in the delivery of public service. Public organisations are urged to use guidelines provided by the strategy for human resources in the public sector, in order to avoid every ministry, from using its own regulations, norms and standards. Further research is recommended on more human resource practices in the public service. The disparity between expectation and output is referred to as quality of service. Reliability, responsiveness, competency, accessibility, courteousness, communication, reputation, protection, understanding customer knowledge, and tangibles were defined as ten dimensions for measuring service quality.
