The low quality of images is one of the reasons for hypo- or hyper-diagnosis as a result of incorrect deciphering. The proposed paper presents an extended version of our method for image quality enhancement based on the creation of a model of pseudo lighting. The method uses a single digital medical image to create a set of images by simulation different patient exposure conditions. This set of images is used to create our pseudo luminance model. In the final stage, the model is used to create a medical image with enhanced quality without medical artifacts.","PeriodicalId":241572,"journal":{"name":"2019 Second Balkan Junior Conference on Lighting (Balkan Light Junior)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129609878","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In most cases, the procedure of lighting design for achieving certain visual effects is still carried out empirically. Procedures or algorithms that could offer a “reverse engineering” way of lighting design i.e. algorithms that take specific visual objectives as input and give optimum lighting design solutions as output could help a lot the lighting designers to do their job more easily and efficiently.This text includes a literature review of the research on lighting design parameters and how they can be methodically controlled to attain specific visual objectives, and a presentation of a proposal for the parameterization of specific visual effects and linking it with corresponding parameters of lighting design, with the goal of arriving at more automated lighting design techniques.","PeriodicalId":241572,"journal":{"name":"2019 Second Balkan Junior Conference on Lighting (Balkan Light Junior)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126878144","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to overcome the huge computational effort that is necessary in this regard, new strategies for less time-consuming ray-tracing based channel models are essential. Here we introduce a channel model that is based on optical simulations using non-sequential ray-tracing in combination with selfdeveloped algorithms in MATLAB. In addition, we discuss an approach, which allows for a time-effective determination of the dependence of the receiver position on the VLC characteristics along the diagonal of the floor of a room. Raytracing information of each ray impinging on a diagonal stripe (with a width of $sim1.41$ cm) is exported to MATLAB for further analysis. By doing so, 26 different receiver positions along the diagonal axis of a room can be investigated using only one raytracing simulation run instead of repeating ray-tracing simulations for each of the 26 receiver positions. The error made by this simulation approach turns out to be negligible because of the small ratio between the area or the receiver stripe and the area of the whole floor.","PeriodicalId":241572,"journal":{"name":"2019 Second Balkan Junior Conference on Lighting (Balkan Light Junior)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127213752","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus saving the cost of energy supply which are around 30% of its price. The operation of anPVS in an island regime also saves costs for the connection of PVS to the grid of the electricity distribution company. The report takes into account the peculiarities of the operation of the PVSs as an island, justifying the benefit of constructing them as portal shading facilities over the road in front of the tunnel entrance. This reduces the installed power for daylight, respectively the investment for PVS.","PeriodicalId":241572,"journal":{"name":"2019 Second Balkan Junior Conference on Lighting (Balkan Light Junior)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126938973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays, these studies demonstrate the great energy savings achieved by replacing high pressure sodium lamps with LED. As LED technology is continuously improving, energy savings are increased and thus the payback time of the investment is decreasing more and more. However, there are a lot of cases were the public constructions are delayed and the initial lighting design is getting obsolete, due to the energy efficient upgrade of the LEDs. In this research a newest version (2019) for the lighting design was performed using the latest technology of LED street lighting and compared with the one performed in 2017. Egnatia Odos EO, the largest national road in Greece, was selected as the case study for both studies (2017 and 2019). EO covers a distant of 670 km in northern Greece. Existing lighting infrastructure was designed and installed 17 years before, according to the previous version of EN12301 [1] –[3].","PeriodicalId":241572,"journal":{"name":"2019 Second Balkan Junior Conference on Lighting (Balkan Light Junior)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129415624","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
