Abstract
An LED luminaire has been developed for use in science and education establishments. Four of the assembled luminaires were installed in study hall 12541 of Technical University of Sofia. The new lighting installation replaces four luminaire with fluorescent lamps T8 with output power 136W each. The paper describes a comparison of the light and technical performance of both installations. A realistic 3D model of the study hall was created to determine the performance of the new installation and the light reflectance coefficients value of all used surfaces and materials was measured. After physical implementation of the new luminaires, light performance measurements were taken in accordance to standard EN 12464-1 "Lighting of work places - Part 1: Indoor work places".
