The heatsink temperature and the measured switching waveforms are then compared by increasing the switching frequency up to 300 kHz and the case temperature up to 150 °C via a high temperature testing setup. Much faster turn-on switching time for SiC BJT, compared with Si MOSFET leads to reduced turn-on switching losses, and consequently the heatsink temperature at 300 kHz reaches only at 53 °C without external cooling such as a fan. For switching performance with case temperature variation, SiC BJT switching waveforms are temperature independent up to 150 °C case temperature. On the other hand, for Si MOSFET turn-on switching time gets faster as the case temperature increases.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126259243","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Motion reproduction systems using motion information extracted by bilateral teleoperation have been developed. However, conventional systems lack adaptability to difference in environmental location. The objective of this research is realization of a system, which can accommodate to the difference in environmental location. The proposed method uses position offset and time-scaling techniques. The offset value and the time-scaling ratio vary according to the difference between the extracted and current force information in real-time. The validity of the proposed method is verified by comparative experiments. The proposed method accomplishes to accurate reproduction of the stored motion. This proposed method shows the usefulness especially in duration of the contact state and amplitude of the force.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129156616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such a maglev system is composed of high temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet, normal conducting magnet and propulsion system. The hybrid electromagnet (EM) consumes little power to keep large suspension gap. The propulsion system realizes to propel the vehicle along the guide-way and assist in braking action. Especially, as the essential point of EMS-based maglev model is to keep the stable suspension force in the high speed operation, the levitation and propulsion forces should be analyzed in order to equilibrate the suspension gap. In this paper, theoretical properties of the levitation force based on electromagnetic analysis are described, as we have been constructed a proto-type electromagnetic suspension (EMS) based maglev vehicle system. Based on the simulation results, we obtained the design parameters for variation suspension gap under high speed propulsion condition.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128936851","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The work will then compare it with the classical control PID (proportional-integral-derivative) and optimal control LQR (linear quadratic regulator) techniques. The proposed attitude controller is based on an outer-inner loop structure PID plus LQR (PID+LQR) control method where the controller combines the positive features of each sub-controller (PID and LQR). The key contribution of this work is the proposed attitude controller can improve robustness and transient response thus leads to faster response in indoor flying environment. The attitude tracking errors are proven to be ultimately bounded with specified boundaries. Simulation results on the hexarotor demonstrate the effectives of the proposed attitude controller.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128835490","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A new direct energy conversion scheme is applied, being combinable with conventional setups like hybrids, electrical vehicles or already established range extenders and independent of the type of electrical machine. Using this power train configuration, a standard inverter is used in parallel for energy conversion in terms of propulsion demands and charging aspects. For the first time photovoltaic energy and electrical stored energy is converted at the same time with one standard power train inverter offering high efficiency and increased reliability.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117091283","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of the existing flux monitoring techniques are based on the leakage or stray flux measurement outside of the motor. A few methods, however, use the main air gap flux as the fault signature, where search coils are used to monitor the derivative of the flux, which eventually introduces noise in the signal. Moreover, the diagnosis methods are mainly based on detecting a fault, whereas very little initiative has been taken to locate a fault precisely. To address these problems, a sophisticated yet robust condition monitoring and fault diagnosis method is needed. To this aim, we propose to monitor the main air gap flux using Hall Effect Flux Sensors (HEFS) at all the stator slots of an induction motor, which can be used to address the stator and rotor slot effects not only through frequency analysis of the magnetic flux, but also by magnitude and phase shift comparison of sensors located at different geometric positions around the stator. We have successfully detected the stator turn-to-turn fault at a very incipient stage and detected the location of the fault precisely. Promising results have been obtained through simulation in the case of broken rotor bar faults as well.","PeriodicalId":240337,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115577435","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
