In the article, competence is considered as a combination of the ability to perceive, understand and use information based on existing knowledge. The competency-based education for the engineering specialists training is substantiated by the authors. To estimate the components of competence in decision-making and determine the factors of its formation, an appropriate questionnaire was developed. According to the survey results, the most and least important factors for the formation of competence in decision-making were identified. Processing of the survey results was carried out by using the basic principles of the applied measurements theory. Based on the results obtained, competency profiles in decision-making on components and formation factors were determined. The proposed methodological approach to estimate competence in decision-making allows revealing reserves of some of its characteristics development and can be implemented in the HEIs’ activities for the future specialists formation.","PeriodicalId":240191,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Problems of Automated Electrodrive. Measured data from the anechoic chamber and simulation data from the HFSS program were used as comparison data. The measured object was a brick wall. The results were compared in the frequency range from 1 GHz to 9 GHz. The result of this research is a comparison of the results and finding out how these results are different. The results show that the difference between the measured and simulated results is 5 – 25 percent. The highest differences were in the frequency range from 5 GHz to 9 GHz. It is demonstrated that in order to obtain a reliable and durable welded joint, it is preferable to use the annealed fine-grained initial pipes. The test results demonstrate the formation of a stable and durable joint of the bimetal layers. Among the quality metrics of the bimetal with a relatively thin cladding layer is also the uniformity of the cladding layer. It is more correct to consider using the yield strength with a certain correction instead of the hardness parameter while calculating the Reynolds number, which allows to take into consideration the welded metals structural changes and their impact on the type of the weld boundary and the quality of the weld joint to the fullest extent. A comparative assessment of the multilayer waveguide manufacturing technologies for further economic analysis of the technology profitability was conducted.","PeriodicalId":240191,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Problems of Automated Electrodrive. The analysis of the existing methods of Jiles-Atherton model parameters determination is carried out for the testing characteristics of magnetization. The testing of the transformer in single-phase magnetization mode was realized. The data of periodic oscillogram’s signals of phase currents and voltages are processed and represented by harmonic Fourier series for the magnetic flux density and magnetic field in the magnetic system. The set of their AC momentary values per one period conforming of the testing characteristic of the magnetization of electrical steel. To improve the accuracy of calculating these parameters, it is proposed the collocation points at specified times supplement to initial points of the hysteresis magnetization curve. For them, the momentary values of magnetic flux density and magnetic field should differ significantly from uniform ones. Optimality conditions are formulated for additional collocation points. The implementation of these conditions by the two-stage ordered elimination technique can significantly reduce the calculating time of the optimized parameters of the Jiles-Atherton model in comparison with the one-stage method with the same calculation accuracy. The use of optimized parameters reduces the error in calculating the area of the hysteresis characteristics of magnetization of electrical steel to 1.14%. Also allows to reduce the current and angular errors in calculating the idle currents of the power transformer to 4.17% and 3.85° for designing new or modernizing existing transformers.","PeriodicalId":240191,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Problems of Automated Electrodrive. The ability to work with complex numbers allows to use Excel as a calculator with graphical output, which immediately after changing the size of the parameter recalculates and graphically displays the change. This option is welcome for resonant circuits where manual calculation of the resonant frequency would take a long time. In addition, if a circuit has multiple resonant frequencies, the proposed calculation procedure will provide an immediate response for a particular circuit. The use of Excel is also attractive because, compared to other software, Office 365 and, therefore, the Excel version for students and university staff under the license for schools is free.","PeriodicalId":240191,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Problems of Automated Electrodrive.
