Objective of this work is to design a mobile application system for checking status of medicine approval by Malaysia Ministry of Health. This application is developed using Android based system. Before the products either traditional medicine or modern medicine are being distributed in the market, they should be registered with Malaysia Ministry of Health in order to ensure the customer's safety. The registration is needed to approve that the medicine is safe to be used. Methods that had commonly been used to identify the medicine are through website, barcode scanner, quick response (QR) code scanner and hologram scanner. However, in this project, the proposed method is text-search on Android platform. This system is expected to identify the status of pharmaceutical products, whether the medicine is counterfeit or not by using search query. Besides showing the status of the medicine, it also includes some other information such as product's name, holder, manufacturer and the dangerous substances contain in the medicine. All the information is stored in the mobile database.","PeriodicalId":240050,"journal":{"name":"2014 2nd International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and System Engineering (ICEESE)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126484362","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Motor current signature analysis is a modern approach to diagnose faults of induction motors. The approach has some shortcomings that limit the accuracy of diagnosis. It is very vulnerable to the environmental noise, voltage harmonics, and operation of nonlinear equipment. Particularly operation of other similar motors nearby may result in wrong warnings being signaled. As a result interpreting current signals usually requires extra calculation and considerations. This paper investigates the significance of propagated fault signatures through distributed power systems. The aim is to explain and quantify the different observations of fault signals and hence diagnoses machine faults with a higher accuracy. A systematic approach has been employed to estimate the influence of fault signals in the currents of neighboring electrical motors. Further analysis in attenuation of electrical signals leads to a graphical framework that evaluates propagation of fault signals in power networks. In order to implement the concept of distributed diagnosis, fault indices and propagation charts, have been employed. The solution then has been evaluated using a scaled down simulation model.","PeriodicalId":240050,"journal":{"name":"2014 2nd International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and System Engineering (ICEESE)","volume":"1053 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127050305","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the past of 5 years, operators in Malaysia using separate radio equipment for different technologies. This caused big impact on the Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) and Operational Expenditure (OPEX) to the operators to manage and maintain their network. By having single RAN, operators automatically reduce their CAPEX and OPEX for every year to manage and maintain the radio equipment. The performance of the single RAN was studied in terms of coverage and quality compared to conventional radio. The specific tools which is called Nemo Outdoor is used to measure the coverage, quality and throughput via drive test. Important parameter and data captured are being process using Nemo Analyze and MapInfo Professional. It is proven that single RAN not only helps reducing investment but it is also improve network for coverage and quality compare with conventional radio.","PeriodicalId":240050,"journal":{"name":"2014 2nd International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and System Engineering (ICEESE)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123509248","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The scope of this project focused on two parts, i) learning how to use Solidworks as a tool for product development and ii) a gate valve design and analysis of its fluid flow. The gate valve was designed in detail in two and three dimensional models that consists of parts, assembly and drawings. The SolidWorks Flow Simulation was then used to test the effectiveness and limitation of the gate valve. Fluids were applied in the simulation to observe the reaction of the gate valve. The outcomes of the simulation showed that this gate valve has the ability to control the flow of liquids and is very durable. In addition the project proved that Solidworks is a tool that can be used effectively to design and simulate flow in gate valves.","PeriodicalId":240050,"journal":{"name":"2014 2nd International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and System Engineering (ICEESE)","volume":"196 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133810323","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A focus is given to the capabilities of these algorithms to track the time-variations of the channel at different training rates and different Doppler frequencies. Three adaptive algorithms are considered; namely the least squares (LS), the recursive least squares (RLS) algorithm and the least mean square (LMS) algorithm. The RLS is a widely used algorithm in channel estimation, especially when the channel is a slow time-varying. This algorithm has the property of fast convergence compared to the LMS algorithm at the cost of little increase in the computational complexity. The performance is evaluated in terms of the MSE of the channel estimate, and the system BER, for different Doppler frequencies (correspond to different mobility speeds). Simulation results have demonstrated that time-domain adaptive channel estimation and tracking in MIMO OFDM systems based on the DD EW-RLS and DD-NLMS is very effective in slowly to moderate time-varying fading channels. This paper provides analysis, evaluation and computer simulations in MATLAB.","PeriodicalId":240050,"journal":{"name":"2014 2nd International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and System Engineering (ICEESE)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124433200","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The current relation is derived after solving the Poisson equation for surface potential. The effect of hot electrons on the drain current is analyzed in detail. The effect of hot carriers on the current can be minimized by choosing moderate substrate doping. The drain current decreases with increase in voltage which is developed at the boundary of the damaged region and non-damaged region (VP). The drain current is almost zero for larger damaged region irrespective of the sign of hot carrier charge density.","PeriodicalId":240050,"journal":{"name":"2014 2nd International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and System Engineering (ICEESE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116349617","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
