This study identified the parameters significantly affecting the FNI for Yavatmal, India, during 2016-17 and 2017-18. The R 2 values computed by Multivariable Linear Regression Analysis for explaining FNI are 73% and 79% for 2016-17 and 2017-18. In 2017-18, the FNI was influenced by household (HH) head education, working population in HH, operating farmland, agriculture machine usage, and livestock sale. This study can help farmers in their farm-decisions for improving FNI and policy makers for designing and implementation of farm policies and schemes.

Correct menstrual knowledge entails having accurate knowledge of physiological changes, which accompanies body changes. Knowledge extends to being well versed with the advantages of correct menstrual practices and the consequences of poor menstrual management. Menstrual hygiene knowledge was evaluated in four (4) primary and 3 secondary schools within Mulundi sub Location. Mulundi sub Location was chosen among many areas due to its economic status, which is similar to that of most sub-Locations within Kitui County. The sampled schools draw their learner's population within the location and the immediate locations thus a good representation of the area. The study adopted a mixed-method approach, which involved the collection of qualitative and quantitative data. Quantitative data was collected using questionnaires administered to 140-school going girls aged between 10-19 years. The qualitative data was acquired through the use of focused group discussions and key informant interviews. The qualitative data reported as verbatim quotes suggest more campaigns are needed to enlighten girls on the menstrual subject. The study reveals that 68% of the girls could define menstruation correctly while 14% and 9% thought it was a disease and curse respectively. A percentage constituting 9% had no idea of menstruation. The parents were ranked as the highest source of menstrual information constituting a percentage of 39.1%. Based on the study findings, teachers contributed 33.2% of the menstrual knowledge by girls. Other sources of menstrual knowledge included individuals, peer educators and religious groups. Though over half of the sampled population were knowledgeable, the study recommends the inclusion of more sessions on the menstrual subject in the school’s curriculum.

Yet such violations continue to occur amidst considerable economic investment and little oversight, in a legislative vacuum, and almost always with very little understanding of the technologies and the impact they have on the people and communities affected at the border. The article investigates all these aspects, which are still unclear, and little discussed in the institutional world and the public sphere in general. The methodology is linked to in-depth study and critical analysis of current literature on the presented topic. Comparisons between different realities and open questions will be made in order to understand the social and political gaps that are difficult to identify in this historical period. It is essential to reflect on the ethical and social issues related to the digital tracking of migration flows. The failure of institutions to act and the lack of attention of scholars and authorities would increase the risks migrants run on their journey. Migrants often lose control over their movements and choices and suffer the consequences of the decisions of systems that are considered innovative but which in the long term prove to be opaque and inefficient.

Subsequently, it reviews the characteristics of predatory governance literature in Africa and East Asia with emphasis on Uganda and Indonesia. The study shows how leaders utilise state resources and institutions for their self-interest and exclude the masses or tax payers who sustain such regimes. We show that, the extent to which regimes, influence policies on the general population politically or otherwise, creates inequality, poverty, unemployment, and bad governance. We, therefore, theorise that predatory governance is hinged on the idea that the state usually has limited capacity to protect citizen rights, the political and socio-economic spaces are usually controlled by the elites either through coercion, corruption or the use of violence. The impact of predatory governance and the developmental state as an approach for economic development has been discussed and we observe practical realities of vote-buying to win elections being a common practice in Uganda and Indonesia. In this understanding, both case scenarios portray an image of predatory behaviour. The study utilised secondary data to evaluate what predatory governance, its characteristics and impact. Findings show that predatory governance affects economic outcomes of a country, produces corruption, violence, nepotism, poverty, unemployment and shrinking democratic space and deficiencies to name but few.

The research studies a person in the context of gender and investigates the Gender Conflict with P factors, i.e., P1 (Personal), P2 (People or Society), and P3 (Power) factors of the 3P Theory. P3, power factor, which is further subdivided into E1 (education), E2 (economics), and E3 (energy). Inter-gender and intra-gender relations are defined universally and the conflict analyzed. The objective of research is to understand the factors responsible for conflict between two genders, especially male and female, with the aim of finding a sustainable solution to curb gender-related violence, especially violence against women. Gender conflict is a primary victim of gender conflict in the world. The conflict in relations between two individuals or genders is explained through 3P Theory formulas.

For vulnerable groups in Canada, like newcomers and refugees, the COVID19 global health crisis amplified pre-existing inequalities and barriers. Given the previous understandings of racial inequality in Canada, we began an online discussion with a group of social service providers to explore how newcomers and refugees are impacted by the social lockdowns, physical distance, and the closures of many services. As a result, we collected informative stories that tell how the pandemic disproportionately and distinctly impact newcomers and refugees, resulting in new challenges finding employment, access to educational services for their families, and maintaining an adequate social and spiritual connection. We also found out how community service provision drastically changed throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in additional challenges and barriers for marginalized communities.

In this paper, focus is drawn upon participation in a digital paintings exhibition and visual representation in assessing the responses of male sex offenders to digital paintings that illustrate the consequences of sexual crimes. The relationship between arts and technology is an emerging area of interest in modern research. In addition to the traditional gallery displays, digital technologies have provided new ways of audience participation in arts, enabling more involvement in the way art is consumed. The authors sought to determine the effect of viewing screen projected images in Rapid Serial Visual Presentation and in a gallery display. The study applied brief repeated exposures as described in Mere Exposure research. The study utilized temporary exhibition displays and projection by Rapid Serial Visual Presentation (RSVP) where the respondents were passive participants, simply viewing the artwork. The participants were drawn from male sexual offenders aged 18-45 years at Nairobi West Prison, a male offenders’ facility in Nairobi City County. Stratified random sampling was used to select 61 male offenders convicted for defilement and rape. Respondents were randomly assigned to two experimental conditions involving viewing in projection by RSVP and gallery display. A five-point Liker scale was used to measure the participants’ responses to digital paintings illustrating consequences of sexual crimes. A Multivariate Analysis was used to assess ratings of the digital paintings against the various components of art. Findings show that painting style, colour schemes, themes and exposure frequency significantly influenced the participants’ responses to the digital paintings. The study recommends use of comparative analysis to determine how exposure to digital paintings impacts differently on other types of audiences.

The population aged 60 years or older \u0000is projected to climb from 9% in 2015 to 19% in 2050 and to 32% in 2100 (UN, 2017). Aging \u0000population requires attention on their physical, social and emotional well-being. Wellbeing \u0000encompasses multiple interactive components which are beyond the conventional issues of \u0000health and diseases. There is multitude of social relationships and dynamics of social roles \u0000that women in this age negotiate in their lives. Family dynamics, compatibility with partner, \u0000household headship, decision making and level of autonomy, incidences of domestic violence, \u0000security concerns, care-giving, perceptions of self, societal status do influence quality of life \u0000and wellbeing. \u0000Using primary survey data of 165 women aged 60 to 65 years residing in urban areas in \u0000Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) interviewed during first quarter of 2018, the paper \u0000attempts to understand what does well-being mean to them, how do they ensure it, what are the \u0000psycho-social barriers and how do they overcome them. Purposive sampling and snowballing \u0000techniques has been employed to identify these women. \u0000Increase in health related problems especially mobility issues, lifestyle diseases along with \u0000depression were predominant in this age. For women in post 60 years of age, respect and \u0000appreciation from family and society is vital to ensure their happiness, while family bonding \u0000and overall contentment stands out for ensuring wellbeing. Religious pursuits and social \u0000interaction are the fundamental coping mechanisms from stress. Inadequate and incomplete \u0000education and early marriage rooted in patriarchy and financial dependence are the principal \u0000sources of regret in lives of these women. Widowed women were identified as the most \u0000vulnerable. Women in the lowest income group and literacy level were further marginalized \u0000and needed help from state. Evident gaps were reported in the existing welfare government \u0000schemes for this age.
