The samples about 100 nm thick show X-ray diffraction spectra characteristic of a superlattice. Measurements of the electron tunnelling spectra of AlAl2O3Pb/Ag layered ultrathin films are performed. Quantum size effects in tunnelling junctions containing 1 to 4 ultrathin layers of lead separated by ultrathin layers of silver are observed. The phase composition and stoichiometry of the films obtained are checked by electronographical and micro-X-ray spectral methods. The concentration and temperature dependences of the electrical resistivity, magneto-resistance, and the Hall effect are investigated; the activation energy of electrical conductivity, concentration, and charge carrier mobility are determined in the temperature range from 120 to 500 K. At 77 K abnormally large reversible deformation (e ≈ 2.5%) (superelasticity) associated with elastic twinning is found on unloading. Volkova","doi":"10.1002/PSSA.2210820213","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1002/PSSA.2210820213","url":null,"abstract":"Peculiarities of plastic deformation and crack initiation within a tilt boundary being “attacked” by screw or edge dislocations in isoaxial LiF bicrystals with various misorientation angles α = = 2 to 15° are studied by the single slip method. Cracks proved to appear within the boundary at a shear strain inversely proportional to the angle a in the first case, and not depending on a in the second case.
