The Jumbo story unfolded in British Columbia, with its unique institutions, colonial legacies and oppositional politics. However, the story affords broader lessons, particularly about the myth that a simple, technical, apolitical evaluation can determine whether a contested proposal in a contested setting will meet the standards of sustainability and sustainable development.","PeriodicalId":23772,"journal":{"name":"Winter tourism: trends and challenges","volume":"43 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86454856","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
