To achieve this, a balanced application of NPK and granular compost was provided to supply the same amount of phosphorus to the cowpea. Three treatments were compared in a split-plot design with three replications, where the treatments were in large plots and the cowpea varieties, numbering four (4), were in small plots. The three treatments are as follows: (i) T0 control treatment without fertilizer application, (ii) T1 application of two grams of NPK per hole, and (iii) T2 application of 9.375 grams of granular compost per hole. The results show a significant difference in yield parameters between treatments (pod yield, grain yield, and straw yield). The mean comparison test revealed that the control treatment and NPK are quite similar for these parameters. Thus, with compost, an increase of 69.17% in grain yield, 55.47% in pod yield, and 41.67% in straw yield was noted compared to the control. The VCR (value-cost ratio) and gross income were significantly improved by compost. The application of organic or mineral fertilizers for cowpea cultivation is profitable due to relatively high VCRs: 3.34 for NPK and 6.79 for compost. Therefore, the use of compost for cowpea cultivation proves to be economically more profitable, as it yields higher returns.","PeriodicalId":23739,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Advanced Research and Reviews","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141795751","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The use of fertilisers and elicitors has been suggested as a sustainable approach to enhance food quality. Therefore, this study investigated the effects of compost at 5 and 10 t/ha, poultry manure at 5 and 10 t/ha, and NPK 15:15:15 fertiliser applied at rates of 50 and 100 kg N/ha, Salicylic Acid at 125 and 250 µM/L, and their combinations on the growth and food quality of Amaranthus cruentus, a globally consumed vegetable. The experiment was conducted in a screenhouse and arranged in a completely randomized design with three replicates. Data were collected on marketable yield, dry matter, chlorophyll, folate, zinc, iron, crude fibre, ash, and moisture contents. SA250+NPK50 enhanced the marketable yield by 88.0%, and SA125+NPK100 enhanced dry matter accumulation by 92.6% compared to the control. The combination of SA250+NPK50 also increased chlorophyll content by 67.0% relative to the control. Amaranthus cruentus treated with SA250+NPK50 had higher folate (285.00 µg/100g) and iron (348.00 mg/kg) contents than control (125.00 mg/kg and 138.00 mg/kg, respectively), while zinc (47.00 mg/kg) was highest in Amaranthus cruentus treated with SA250+CP10. In addition, Amaranthus cruentus treated with SA125+PM5 had significantly higher crude fibre (13.10%) and ash (12.35%) contents than the control. The combined application of 250 µM/L salicylic acid and 50 kg N/ha NPK fertiliser improved the yield and quality of Amaranthus cruentus, especially in terms of folate, iron, and zinc, which are important micronutrients for human health.","PeriodicalId":23739,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Advanced Research and Reviews","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141795820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Out of all the challenges society is currently facing, health is the major issue. Cancer, Bacterial, Fungal and other numerous diseases are there which we need to encounter with the best possible methods. Nanoparticles owing to their better size to area ratio act as good drug delivery agents. Synthesis of nanoparticles (NPs) has already travelled a long pathway and researchers are looking for green synthesis of NPs which is non-toxic and non-hazardous pathway of NPs synthesis. Green synthesis of NPs can be performed using bacteria, fungi, algae, virus, plant extracts etc. Green synthesis is preferable because of its cost-effectiveness, energy-efficient nature, bio-compatibility and being therapeutically significant. Biological media tend to have antioxidant properties preferably plant resources which when incorporated with metal, transport same property to such nanoparticles synthesized. Since ancient times, it has been read and well-researched that silver accounts various health benefits. Therefore, silver NPs (AgNPs) are looked upon for their novel use in therapies and treatment against numerous diseases as anticancer, anti-fungal, antibacterial. This review commentates on therapeutic activity of green synthesized AgNPs, their mode of action, and potential medicinal use against many diseases as well as their antioxidant potential.","PeriodicalId":23739,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Advanced Research and Reviews","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141795835","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Objective: Thirty mice aged 8 to 12 weeks were randomly divided into 5 groups. The negative control group (K-) received 1% CMC Na/head, the positive control group (K+) was exposed to smoke and received 1% CMC Na/head, (P1) was exposed to smoke and administered mangosteen extract 6,045 mg/head, (P2) was exposed to smoke and administered mangosteen extract 12.09 mg/head, (P3) was exposed to smoke and administered mangosteen extract 24.18 mg/head. Each group was exposed to one cigarette per day, and treatments were administered one hour after smoke exposure. All treatments and smoke exposure lasted for about 45 days. Necropsy was performed after the final day of treatment, and histopathological slides of the testes were processed and stained under a light microscope. The observed parameter was spermatogenic cell count. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) based on a completely randomized design, and further analyzed using Duncan’s multiple range. Results: Cigarette smoke significantly reduced spermatogenic cells (spermatogonia, primary spermatocytes, and spermatids) (p<0.05). Administration of mangosteen peel extract significantly increased spermatogenic cells (p<0.05). The highest increase in spermatogenic cells was observed in the group given 12.09 mg/gram BW of mangosteen peel extract (P2). The increase in spermatogenic cells due to the administration of mangosteen peel extract and cigarette smoke did not reach normal conditions (K-). Conclusion: This study concludes that mangosteen peel extract (Garcinia mangostana Linn) could maintain the number of spermatogenic cells in male mice (Mus musculus) exposed to cigarette smoke (p<0.005).","PeriodicalId":23739,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Advanced Research and Reviews","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141795929","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research uses quantitative methods with a population of 27,162 MSMEs in Badung Regency. The sampling method uses probability sampling with a simple random sampling technique, with a sample of 395 MSMEs. Data was collected through questionnaires in hardcopy form and Google Form. Hypothesis testing was carried out using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) approach based on Partial Least Square (PLS) version 4. The research results show that financial literacy, financial technology and financial inclusion have an influence on financial management. The strongest variable that has an influence on financial management is the financial technology variable. This shows that technology adoption can increase effectiveness in financial management. It was found that the higher the financial literacy and adoption of financial technology, as well as financial inclusion, the wiser MSMEs in Badung manage their finances. They are better prepared to face challenges, increase transparency, and gain access to financing. This research recommends using a wider sample, for example using samples from all districts/cities in the province.","PeriodicalId":23739,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Advanced Research and Reviews","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141795966","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Field trips were carried out to monitor the damage in 134 commercial fields which represented 5,256 hectares. The damage estimate was accounted for by visual inspection, calculating the percentage of green area affected by the freezing temperatures multiplied by the population damaged; also, the percentage of foliar damage and the sowing date were correlated with grain yield. Eighteen fields sown with different maize hybrids on different dates, and with different percentage of damage, were selected to evaluate the weather effect, by harvesting six random samples 1 m2. The number of ears per plant were counted considering the complete and incomplete ones, and the grain weight was standardized to 12 % humidity. The estimated average foliar damage in the total area monitored was 30.24 %. The lowest damage was related to the irrigation applied before the freezing temperatures occurred, while the greatest damage in fields sown early, was related to the phenological stages 9th to the 11th ligulated leaves. The interaction between foliar damage and grain yield indicated that for every 1 % damage, yield was reduced by 0.0228 t ha-1 and the average production of the fields by 1.85 t ha-1, while for late sowing, grain yield was reduced by 0.0638 t ha-1 per day of delay, and the average production of the fields by 1.53 t ha-1.","PeriodicalId":23739,"journal":{"name":"World Journal of Advanced Research and Reviews","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141795979","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
