Yaniawati","doi":"10.23969/v9i2.2713","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.23969/v9i2.2713","url":null,"abstract":"Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah serta motivasi belajar siswa setelah implementasi pendekatan Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Selain itu, dikaji juga aktivitas guru dan siswa terhadap pembelajaran yang menggunakan Pendekatan Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI Jurusan Teknik Komputer Jaringan SMK Negeri 1 Haurwangi Kabupaten Cianjur tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Dengan sampelnya diambil secara acak dua kelas, satu kelas diberikan perlakuan dengan pendekatan Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) dan kelas yang satunya lagi dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah, lembar ahli media, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa disertai angket motivasi belajar. Analisis data menggunakan metode Mixed Method Embedded. Data yang digunakan untuk menguji perbedaan rata-rata uji t atau uji mann whitney dan deskripsi. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa (1) proses perancangan dan mengembangkan alat STEM menghasilkan produk yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah. The population in this study\u0000were all students of class VIII SMP on an SMP in Cimahi. The research instrument\u0000used in the form of test and non-test. One \u0000way to improve the quality of mathematics learning is to apply a learning model that \u0000s\u0000upports the realization of real mathematics learning goals, namely by developing a \u0000number of students' mathematical abilities including developing students' critical \u0000thinking skills that have not been maximized when viewed from students' values \u0000in \u0000recent\u0000years. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the improvement of \u0000students' critical thinking skills and student motivation in terms of parenting by \u0000applying the \u0000Open ended\u0000learning model. As one alternative to overcome these \u0000problems, mix meth\u0000ods are conducted with explanatory sequential designs with the \u0000aim of increasing this capability. The subjects used in the study were students of class \u0000XI Bandung Talenta High School. In this study the instruments used were, among \u0000others, critical thinking\u0000ability tests, learning motivation questionnaires, parenting \u0000questionnaires as well as observation and interview sheets.
