Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the improvement of \nstudents' critical thinking skills and student motivation in terms of parenting by \napplying the \nOpen ended\nlearning model. As one alternative to overcome these \nproblems, mix meth\nods are conducted with explanatory sequential designs with the \naim of increasing this capability. The subjects used in the study were students of class \nXI Bandung Talenta High School. In this study the instruments used were, among \nothers, critical thinking\nability tests, learning motivation questionnaires, parenting \nquestionnaires as well as observation and interview sheets.
