This consists of a bibliographic research, which comprised exploratory and descriptive elements, for the analysis of qualitative data, which had been collected through the selection of users’ posts in supporting groups for people who have depression, on Facebook social media. The data analysis and results discussion consisted of an interpretative analysis of a collected corpus, based on Discourse Analysis (DA) theory and the use of conceptions from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This methodology could be justified once this research is qualitative and exploratory. The results of the analysis revealed different perceptions of users over depression, which most of the times diverged from scientific view. This led to the observation that CBT could be applied for the treatment of this disorder, as its techniques make cognitive restructuring of thoughts and dysfunctional beliefs possible.","PeriodicalId":236787,"journal":{"name":"Estudos Interdisciplinares em Ciências da Saúde - vol. 02","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128093543","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Physiotherapy emerges as a science capable of promoting recovery and preservation of the functionality of these patients. For patients who can not or can not perform active exercises an alternative form is neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES). The aim of this study is to show the efficacy of NMES in the treatment and prevention of the consequences of immobility in patients admitted to intensive care units (ICUs), in which pathology is most frequently used and at which time this technique is more indicated. The research consisted of an exploratory literature review, with a qualitative approach. The application of NMES has been associated with increased muscle mass, strength and endurance, requires minimal cooperation, produces little cardiorespiratory stress, and less personal involvement. In patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), NMES has been used safely and effectively, and has better results when applied late. The use of this technique is also able to change the oxygenation values and energy values of the metabolism in a favorable way. From the studies found and their respective findings, it is concluded that NMES is a low cost and reliable technique, being investigated, mostly, in patients with COPD, obtaining good results, especially when used in the late phase of the disease.","PeriodicalId":236787,"journal":{"name":"Estudos Interdisciplinares em Ciências da Saúde - vol. 02","volume":"130 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133933594","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Various studies, using Brazilian population, mainly in women resident in Northeast, Southeast and South regions, ratify this tendency. However, the discussion about the factors that could promote these results are unclear. Therefore, the present study, using a systematic review methodology, analyze the SB in Brazilian women, and its impact on their quality of life. Using SCIELO database and descriptors “comportamento sedentário” (sedentary behavior) AND “mulheres” (women), 10 of the 262 articles published between January 2010 and December 2020 were selected and analyzed. The discussion resulted in the finding that such audience really has a very high SB, which may be related to the historical context, lack of incentives and sociodemographic variables such as age, gender, monthly income, BMI, place of residence and marital status. Nonetheless, the lack of specific research of the concerned audience is still a problem, making necessary efforts in academic area, in addition to the use of more accurate methods of SB and physical activity evaluation. So being able to propose actions in public politics to change this behavior and improve life quality of the target audience.","PeriodicalId":236787,"journal":{"name":"Estudos Interdisciplinares em Ciências da Saúde - vol. 02","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133110199","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Elective procedures, including cancer screening, have been suspended in most countries due to the need to prioritize emergencies and reduce the risk of the spread of the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) in health services. Even if measures to prevent the new coronavirus are necessary, it is of paramount importance that women continue to carry out their routine exams according to the recommendations for carrying out the pap smear. Objective: To identify in the literature, recommendations for the pap smear to be performed safely during the pandemic. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review, carried out by consulting scientific articles on the subject. The research for the bibliographic survey was carried out from the scientific databases of the virtual libraries: Scientific Electronic Online Library (SCIELO), Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS) and Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE). Results and Discussions: Based on the literature review, it became clear that uterine cancer screening actions during the pandemic require a careful analysis by the professional, evaluating the risks and benefits involved, in view of the current epidemiological scenario and the responsiveness of the health care network. It is important to follow all restrictions, as the risk of delaying cancer screening and the risk of contamination with the new coronavirus must be analyzed individually. Conclusion: The present integrative review showed, through the scientific literature, the importance of incorporating safe practices for performing the Pap smear. In the trajectory of the analysis of this study, it was also possible to perceive that factors, even with the risks of spreading the virus, are essential for the consultation to be carried out for cancer screening.","PeriodicalId":236787,"journal":{"name":"Estudos Interdisciplinares em Ciências da Saúde - vol. 02","volume":"224 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133459397","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Xerostomia causes difficulty in swallowing and the use of dentures, a burning sensation in the mouth, fissures in the tongue, increased tooth decay, periodontal diseases, candida, among other oral complications. SS can also cause dryness of the skin, mucous membranes and vital organs. Its etiology remains unknown, but it is known that it can affect all genders and age groups, although it affects more middle-aged women. Its diagnosis is difficult and treatment is symptomatic, aiming to alleviate the symptoms associated with xerostomia, with pilocarpine-based medications, since there is no cure. The dentist is essential for the diagnosis and local treatment of xerostomia, and should guide and assist the patient in maintaining their oral health.","PeriodicalId":236787,"journal":{"name":"Estudos Interdisciplinares em Ciências da Saúde - vol. 02","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130263680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
